Well, after being encouraged by the great grows I saw going on here, my grow room has finally come together. It??s basically half of a sliding door closet that I divided with some 1.5? rigid foam, and all walls & ceiling are covered with Mylar. Finished size is 3ft x 2ft x 6ft.

For lighting I have three 125w 6500 K CFL so I don??t expect much heat problems. It has a 85cfm fresh air intake fan with a duct that get fresh air from my always open window and about 4in x 36in opening in the top to vent heat to the rest of the closet. I hope it??s enough ventilation? My intention is to switch to 2700K CFL for flowering if the results are good for the CFL??s. I've done a dry run and the heat & ventilation seem under control. I'll add a fan for air movement in a few days.

The soil I??m starting with is 30% Top Soil 30% Potting Mix, and 30% Perlite and about 10% worm castings (skipped the worm castings in the seedling peat pots) The only nutes for the first couple weeks will be SuperThrive, a drop or two per gallon.

Seeds are Chronics Revenge, a white widow crossed with a good old country indica that I got from Dr. Chronic. I germinated 4 seeds and all 4 sprouted tap roots on 9/19 ?? 9/20. I put them in peat pots last night under a single 125w CFL. Once they??ve broken soil and their little eyes have gotten used to the light, I??ll add the two other 125w CFLs. Timers are set for 18/6 light schedule.

I didn??t expect all 4 to germinate so I need to put one up for adoption if they all break soil?I??ve only got room for 3 big pots and I??m hoping to end up with at least two females. In my minds eye, I see this as enough space to grow two really nice plants. We??ll see?stay tuned.

Grow them all to better your odds of getting a female.
Give one or two away or kill after you find out their sex.
That way you don't end up being short a female or two. :smokin:

Looks good by the way...i wish you a great grow:thumbsup:

Ok, here's a minor update: of the four germinated seeds, all four broke ground (the last straggler broke today). So, four germed, four sprouted, all I need now is four females for a Grand Slam!

Two broke through on 9/23 and one other yesterday morning. I was about to give up on the last one but as I got home from work today, she was shakily standing on her own, having barely just come out, three days after the first.

I know you guys don't want MORE pictures of seedlings so I'll wait a week or two for the next update.

Anybody want to venture how long I shoulld keep them in the peat pots till I transplant?

Thanks for the good wishes Bodom!

About 2weeks from sprouting

are you transplanting the peat pots directly or transplanting them into a new pot?

If the peat pellets are like this make sure to catch the roots before they go through the mesh otherwise you could have stunted growth!

How do I clone in peat pellets?

Good Luck:thumbsup:

I'll be transplanting into those 12" pots that the peat pots are sitting on top of. Two weeks sounds about right to me too. I just don't want the roots to start getting cramped at all. I know you can transplant the whole peat pot and everything and it will kinda dissolve into the soil but wouldn't it be easier on the plants just to peel the peat pot off? Or maybe some fine roots are already attaching themselves the the peat?

I'll post some pictures of the babies tomorrow night - their one week birthday.

Here are the new babies: two of them are one week old today and the other smaller one is 5 days. They haven't grown much vertically but the internode spacing seems tight with the first set of real fan leaves seeming to pop right out of the first single serrated ones.

As you can see I'm only using the single 125w CFL for the seedlings but once I transplant them into their permenant pots next week or so, I'll lower the other 125w reflectors you can see on either side of the one in use.

Yesterday they began to look a little pale to me, somewhat yellow and I wondered if I was overwatering. With the lights so close, the peat pots seem to dry out pretty quick and Ive been watering them daily. Since I saw them get pale, I have not watered them today and won't until tomorrow - its hard though!!! I just want to give them everything they need for life all at once!!

Temps in the room avg. about 75-80 with temps directly under the light at about 85 or so. I have a single 265cfm Dayton fan bring fresh air into the closet and hopefully displacing the warmer air inthe process. I hope I don't need an exhaust fan too, since it is fall now and the weather is changing a little. Sill was 80 outside yesterday but it should start to cool a little here soon.

So far no nutes, except a drop of Superthrive per gallon of distilled water. I've got some Growth Excel I'll start spraying them with in a week or so and some Cal-Mag, Liquid Karma, and plain ole 12-4-8 liquid plant food Ill sloooowly start them on in a couple more weeks.

This is my first indoor grow so any comments or suggestions are appreciated. I've read nearly every word on this forum and others so this grow will be the cullmination of all of your distilled experience manifested in my closet. Let's pray for females!!

Well, it seems i may have overwatered my poor babies. They havent grown much at all in the last couple of days and are looking pretty yellowish. I stopped watering them the day before yesterday and won't water again until tomorrow to see if I can salvage them but from what I've read, overwatering is the kiss of death.

Anyone venture whether they will make it or not? Should I start to germ more seeds? :(

man. that looks almost exactly like my grow. i have 3 that sprouted around 9/21-9/24 and im using the peat pots and cfls too. two of mine are a real light green color. they kinda seem like theyve stopped growing too. i thought theyd be bigger than they are. ive been watering every other day. yours look a little better than mine do. good luck man.

Thats about when mine sprouted too...I wouldn't think every other day would be too much but I think thats about what I did...maybe more. The peat pots seem to dry out pretty fast but Im afraid of damaging fragile roots by digging my finger too deep in the little pot to check moisture and judging the weight by feel isnt very accurate with little pots like this. I guess next time Ill water one day, skip two...etc etc.

Ive got some more seeds germinating because I figure these are goners. Wish I wasnt so mean to my plants!! I'm a bad dad!
