Got caught with cigarettes :(

I feel the need to vent, because I'm not planning on telling anyone else in real life besides the people I was with. This is what happened.....

So today at lunch (I'm a senior, last year wooo!) me and 2 others went out to have a smoke like usual (I'm glad I'm out of weed this week, or they would have called the cops for sure if we were toking). We walked about 2 blocks away from the school, and sat down on a ledge. After we light a few, guess who turns the corner into that alley? not one, but TWO principals. I just whispered to play it cool since we are all 16.

I still don't know how they knew where we were, because they came straight to us (we were out of sight), then left the same way they came. There is no way they were just walking around. Even though we were not on school ground, my school has a stupid policy that everything within a 4 block radius is under their juristiction (if you happen to be a student). Long story short, the two principals asked our names, age and ID. I didn't think much of it, I said I was 18, had no ID on me, and gave them a fake name of course (which they wrote down). My friends though.... they deserve a slap. One of them is a bad liar, so he said his name was Joe, and the other actually gave them his REAL NAME! Just as they have appeared, the principles also dissapeared the same way they came.

Long story short, I hope they dont bring in the one who gave them their real name and question him (because it will lead to me as well). I dont give a flying fuck about what the school does, I just can't let my parents find out because they will loose ALL trust in me. I am not saying that I blame my friends for any of this. They cracked under pressure, it happened to me as well the first few times I got in shit. The thing that aggravates me is the snitch who gave us out. There is no way they knew where to find us. It is downtown after all, and there are lots of alleys and such. If I find out who it is, they will end up with broken body parts (most likley a jaw).

I just needed to vent... because my day has kind of gone to shit.. The most I can do is stay out of sight in the hallways for a bit so they don't recognize me.

Honestly, why should your school give a fuck? you're not really on their property and to persecute you would just be picking a fight. No, they were probably just trying to scare you into not doing it again.

As I said, they have a 4 block juristiction over the area. Think of it as school grounds for 4 blocks around the school.... Stupid, I know... but It's how it is.

So, even if they do have a rule why would they drag out all this controversy when you werent harming anyone. They're just trying to scare you into not doing it anymore. They probably figured you were smoking pot which is why they followed you. Principles care about people who smoke dope during school because that = lower grades which= lower test scores which = less money for them.

Lol, in middle school Id get caught smoking cigs every other day by the principles, our school only gives detentions to people who get caught smoking so it wasnt a big deal anyways. Besides back then I had the 'I dont give a fuck syndrome' so I didnt really care anyways. I never got caught in highschool though, but it doesnt matter now anyways cause im done with school plus Im over 18. Oh well dude hopefully youll pull through and come away clean.

My son comes home and says he's suspended for 10 days because he smells like pot. Trust me I can tell when my son is stoned and he was not.

I go back to the school with my son and chastize the principle and the lady that said he smelled like it.

They have no right to judge my son like that. I told them I will have a team of lawyers down here in a heartbeat if they continue with this suspension. He was not high at all. They apologized and reinstated my son.

It was at this time that I learned of this new rule. Unbelievable!!

that is absolutely ridiculous. Just hearing about that makes me pissed off. What the fuck happened to guilty until proven innocence. How can they even consider suspending your son purely on the fact that he smelt like pot? And even if he stunk of weed then they couldnt prove he had smoked it on school grounds, or even that he had been the one smoking it.

yea, i know what you mean but ive never been caught at school, other people do and ill be near them and see whats happening, whenever someone gets caught ill figure out that i only finished about 5 minutes before they did, so its kinda luck or timing i guess, if i stayed at the spot 5 minutes later i could have been caught too

wow Damon32, that really sucks! Schools are worse off with their rules than even cops... i am just FUCKING lucky i am dry this week (till tomorrow :cool: , cant wait) and was not smoking pot or that would have meant:

-taken in to office
-phone call home
-suspension
-me getting kicked out of my home because my parents are very strict

we all learn from our mistakes, next time i am going to hide behind a dumpster or something, and check my back if i've been followed :smokin: :stoned:

anyways, the principals did not see me inside the school yet. as soon as the bell goes i get out and walk fast for 15 mins till i get to a dark back alley with lots of dumpsters. i do all my smoking there ;).

Ever since this school year started, my school has all of a sudden become so much stricter. We have kids get busted every day for stupid shit like smoking cigs, having lighters, and theres even a rule where you get suspended if you get caught with eye drops. We seriously have no rights, if they just suspect that you are a bad kid they'll pull you into the office and search you and the closest shopping center is always swarming with cops at lunch. One time, me and a couple of friends were smoking a bowl behind this trash compacter thing. So, we finish our bowl and walk out to find a sheriff parked right there. He was trying to bust the people that we were with right before we went to smoke the bowl, and one actually did get busted for trying to ditch his sack. Shows how smoking herb is always the safe way to go.

Sounds like my school. It's not so much they hate weed, as they are desperate for any kind of drama. Plus they all hate me and only accept me because my parents are rich and would be more then happy to kick me out. I've been brought in several times because they administration "heard rumors that I smoked" and wanted to test me.

personally, i do NOT consent to searches without a warrant. the school could try, but they would never get to actually do it. i always got a nice little "altoids" tin on me and a few lighters. if they did actually search me i would be fucked lol. im happy i gave them a fake name so i dont have to worry about any phone calls, etc. i cant say the same for the friends who were with me unfortunatley, one of them got questioned. we made a pact that we dont say anything else about each other, and i trust them with that. i am in the clear, but the other guys might be in some minor shit.

still, the point here is freedom outside of school grounds, not what happens to us..

Most of the cops in my area are dicks. A lot of them claim that if you refuse a search, thats suspision right there. If you're young and dont have access to lawyers, you're pretty much powerless around here. One of my friends was told straight up that he stood out because he was black by a cop.
