ok i live in a great area, i love my hometown area honestly. small towns, none big, and lots of woods and forests, but as time progresses the construction of more and more shit happens which i dont like to see but what can ya do. anyways back to the point, my town's local police has set up a DRUG TIP LINE that anybody can call anynomously and tip the police on ANY SUSPECTED drug activity. i read that in the paper and couldn't believe what this town was coming to. i mean there is alot of drug use in this area but obviously becuz its a small town and people love to get a buzz on and enjoy themselves specially in this area where theres not much else to do. but since they set that up i swear theres been at least a drug bust a day that i read in the paper, they are busting like crazy now. i just dont know what to think of the whole idea except that i hate it greatly. but any thoughts on this im interested in cuz it pisses me off, but it almost seems illegal or something becuz people can call anynomously and rat people out just becuz they dont like them or whatever. but its a problem here now people gettin busted left and right, but i havent been using for awhile for i had a OWI so im kind of layin low for now. enjoy yourselves, peace

It's a simple but highly complex formula...

Towns need revenue. One way they get that revenue is by attracting new residents and businesses. More people in the town means more money being spent, more taxes, more tickets to be issued, yadda yadda yadda.

Now, you take a laid back town and you start attracting all these new people. You want to continue to attract them while also controlling the bad element. So what do you do...step up enforcement, create a 'drug tip' line, police harder.

Money is at the root of it. Your town wants money. They'll make less if they can't attract new residents. What good is it if the people moving in move out in 6mos, a year because they don't feel safe. Money talks, bullshit gets a trip to the County lock up.....remember, don't drink the juice!

i'd have everybody i knew call em up and send em to old white ladies houses. eventually after getting bogus calls they'll end the line because it's wasting more money than it's generating. but call from a payphone cuz lyin to the pigs is like illegal or something like that. i think.

yeah big calhoun you have the right idea, my towns law enforcement has had budget cuts so they try to involve the whole town to help fighting drugs by creating this tip line. and it is all about money. i just cant see how people can call in a tip, they dont get shit out of it but ruining someone elses life. it just proves a point, you cant trust anybody anymore. peace

Damn...You should definitely call in some bogus calls. I would, cause I think its morally wrong to encourage others to rat out other people when its NONE OF THEIR FUCKING BUISNESS.

I was watching this show on PBS called Alone in the Wilderness, and it was from at least the 70's. It showed this guy make his own cabin from nothing more than a hand saw, his roof made peat moss on the ground, his own cooking tools, everything! No government, no taxes, no bullshit. It is now my mission to find a mountain and call it home. :) Where there is only 2 choices in life: To really live or to die. That IS life, being self-sufficiant, instead of living in a mass produced country and to live by the government, who just takes away 20% of our hard earned wages and blow it on bullshit.

Who wants to find a mountain with me? Come on! :p

If u called in alot of fake calls from telephone booths or somethen then the police will be preoccupied with all that and can get to the real people, also it will waste alot of time and money so they cant do as much.

I've been contemplating how to do this for a LONG LONG time, and it's plausable and would be easier than 200 years ago but it would still be a TON of work, think about how you're going to get potable water, sustainable food sources etc.

I would bring a chainsaw, a truck, a large water tank to get started, water filters, distilation system, seeds of every kind and greenhouse materials, a weapon probably projectile maybe a shotgun and a rifle and a pistol, blankets and sleeping bags, eating utensils, cooking utensils, about a 6 month supply of canned food and non perishable food, gas and propane stoves, a shovel, spade, pickaxe, wheelbarrow, rake and more that i haven't thought of yet.

You can make money by cutting wood and selling it to buy more supplies, animal furs can be made into blankets and carpeting.

I would start by building a large baracade about 30' or more in diameter and about 7' tall in the form of a circle, make a gate for an entrance, then build a large 2 room log cabin with inside pluming (who wants to take a shit outside when its -10 degrees out) just a large pipe that is angled into an outhouse style pit about 15 feet from the house.

Maybe bring a woodstove so that you dont have to make a campfire every day and leave a hole in your ceiling.

Small chicken coop for eggs, a small greenhouse for obvious reasons (tomatos, potatos, corn, squash, weed, and other foods)

Then I could spend my days in harmony with nature, the only problem is lonelyness, so id have to find a girlfriend who could handle it or bring a truckload of porno's.

Stop all this prohibition... It gets on my nerves sometimes because of some of the shit that the government does.
