Regardless of one's political ideology, there seems to be one thing we can all agree on: things are pretty fucked up right now and they could be better. My question is simply whether or not you have optimism that they will get significantly better.

All i can do is get up and work as hard as I can every day, and still live Pay check to pay check. I have my kids......that is my life.
The Rest???

Illegal imagration....is a bigger problem IMO

Most Certainly....we've done 'fucked up' more times than anyone could count throughout history, and we have always managed to come out of it stronger, wiser, and better off than before. We'll do it again this time too. You can count on that.

I was thinking just the other day of why Star Trek is such a social phenomenon. I believe it's because (as hokey as it is), it's an optimistic view of the future. Our culture is ass deep in prophets and doomsayers cursing humanity and its future. They've grown so boring and tiresome that a little optimism is a desparately needed breath of fresh air.

I think I still consider myself an optimist about the future, too, despite the fact that I don't like our current policies. I have hope. Funny thing, hope. It comes every two years in early November . . .

That's because conservatives are a solution in search of a problem.

BTW - I'm not a liberal, I just play one in this forum
