Well the imporant things are:

While drying, make sure the area you dry in is dark, well ventilated, and has low humidity. You'll want to avoid mold as much as possible as it renders bud virtually useless.

Make sure you dry long enough. You don't want damp buds and the taste and aroma of your bud will turn out better if you dry it properly to begin with. The best way to tell if your buds are dry enough is to try to break a stem. If it cracks in half pretty easily then your bud is dry enough. If it bends and twists and doesn't snap then you need to dry longer.

Hang the buds up to dry at first. Leave them up for a few days - maybe 4 or 5, then place the buds on something suspended which allows for air exchange both above and beneath the buds (a screen raised above the ground works). Let the buds sit on the drying rack for another few days.

Curing is also very important in order to bring about the full taste and smell of your harvest. Mason jars are by far the best for this as they are airtight, clean, and simple. Simply put your buds in the jar, loosely packed (don't even pack them down at all, just keep placing buds in until the jar is 1/2 - 3/4 full). Now all you have to do is open the jar once or twice a day to exchange the air in the jar with fresh air. You may want to move the buds around a bit and make sure clean air gets all the way to the bottom.

Leave them in jars for a few weeks or however long you think is necessary, and then enjoy!

Jars are a good idea, but don't forget to let your ganja breathe a little bit each day, maybe 5 mins with the jar(s) open...
