Willie Nelson Busted for Weed

LAFAYETTE, La. -
Wille Nelson and four others were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of narcotic mushrooms and marijuana after a traffic stop Monday morning on a Louisiana highway, state police said.
The citations were issued after a commercial vehicle inspection of the country music star's tour bus, state police said in a news release.
"When the door was opened and the trooper began to speak to the driver, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana," the news release said. A search of the bus produced 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and 0.2 pounds of narcotic mushrooms, according to state police.
Nelson's publicist, Elaine Shock, declined immediate comment
Also cited were Tony Sizemore, 59, of St. Cloud, Fla.; Bobbie Nelson, 75, of Briarcliff, Texas; Gates Moore, 54, of Austin, Texas; and David Anderson, 50, of Dallas.
Each was released after being issued a citation.

Willie Nelson Cited for Drug Possession

Willie Nelson and several members of his band were cited for drug possession in Louisiana early Monday.

Troopers stopped the singer's bus in Saint Martin Parish, the Associated Press reports. According to trooper Willie Williams, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana when the driver opened the door.

Williams said troopers searched the vehicle and found approximately 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and about 2/10 of a pound of mushrooms.

Nelson, 73, and Tony Sizemore, 59, Bobbie Nelson, 75, Gates Moore, 54, and David Anderson, 50, were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of mushrooms and marijuana and then released.

Next up, Nelson will perform at Farm Aid 2006 on Sept. 30 in Camden, N.J.

That traffic incident occurred slightly southeast of Lafayette in a colorful little area named Breaux Bridge (former Senator John Breaux's family comes from the area) that's the site of all sorts of interesting transportation adventures since several highways converge right there. A little green of a slightly different type than Willie and his crew were ticketed for turns felonies into misdemeanors down there just like magic. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

It was only a misdemeanor because the 1 1/2 lb and shrooms were divided among 5 people so they each got charges for a misdemeanor. Remember that the next time you party hardy.

i dont know if that is veryr good advice i still think over quarter pound of weed per person would probably be enough to get most non celebrities a little more than a misdemeanor
