i hear alot of people say to flower when the plant has 5 nodes or is 1ft tall, would it be ok to flower my plant now even tho it is 5 inches tall and has 5 nodes already? the plant is three weeks old, and is full and not stretched on bit, i will post pics soon.

You can put it in 12/12 if you really want to but there's 2 things:
1) less yield from tiny plant
2) if it isn't mature yet it won't show sex until it is.
so wait until nodes go alternating then put in 12/12

The stem will look kind of zig-zag.
Right now your leaves will pop out in pairs at the same spot on the stem.
When you get one leaf, then another a little further up on the other side, the another even further on the other side again, that's alternating.

Are they from clone? If so you can put them in flower. If not, the plant has not reached maturity and you will have smaller yield and less potent bud than you would of had if you would of waited another week, but for height problems I put some in flower at three weeks, but they had there alternating nodes.
