the leaf isn't burn't mate , its the way it goes during flowering as it sucks the last drops of N from itself.
GK
i have a 4foot x 4 foot room with 2 x 600 dual spectrum hps , 125 mm ruck fan with cann filter, small 7" desk fan , 4" bathroom fan for intake. in the pics u are looking mostly at 5 WW mothers that i took cuttings from and them flowered, just to the right of these plants i have 10 ww clones that as soon as they rooted i put into flowering ( no veg time at all ) . these will end up 2 and a half foot tall , each giving a min of 1 ounce of dried bud each, i can fit 28 of these plants into my flowering room .
The WW takes 8 weeks under 11/13 to finish . NYCD takes 10 weeks.

the dual spectrum are great mate , i don't do alot of vegging after i clone and they do great under the HPS , going from 7/8 inches to 2/ 2 and half foot.
i also offer a dry cleaning service for any jizzed boxers due to my pic.......lol

Hi HAL..
How much vegging do you do after your clones sprout legs?

love

Shallow Hal
09-18-2006, 07:14 AM
none mate at all, as soon as they root i transplant them into 5 litre pots and put them under the 2 x 600 hps straight away. no vegging time at all , this keeps them easy to work with and at the tallest they are 2 to 2 and a half foot tall.
i hope this helps

Shallow..

So, when your clones show roots... you start to FLOWER (12/12) them immidieately ?

What is your cloning light schedule?

thanks
cheers

Yes, i'd like to know that too

Shallow Hal

yeah as soon as i see the roots coming outta the rockwool cloning blocks i transplant them into the 5 litre pots and put them under 11/13 as 12/12 takes to long for them to finish .
when the clones are in the propagator i keep them under 400 watts of strip floro's, ( thats 10X4 foot bulbs ) half are warm whites half are cool whites. the clones can take upto 14days to root . they are under 16/8 light cycle. as clones are the same age as the mothers there is no problem with flowering them straight off. Plants make roots at night or so i read sumwhere so the 11/13 doesn't harm the root growth infact i personally think it roots into the 5 litre pots quicker than if i vegged them under 18/6 for a week or more. so when clones have rooted i put them into 5 litre pot and straight into my flowering room under 11/13 light cycle.
when they are rooting in the prop they are under 16/8

This is some good info. With the pots, do you leave them in those all the way through? Do they end up pretty root bound when you harvest? I have some similar dimensions in my cab but with a 1K. Whir did you get your containers? Are they square? Do you do any pruning and if so, how much and at what point?
Do you use any veg nutes and if not, what do you do for nitrogen deficiencies throughout the grow? What nutes are you using? I have more questions, but I must refrain, just hope to get the answers to these though.
I do think I want to try those veg and flowering light cycles at some point, very innovative grow.

ok ok ok.
the pots can be got anywhere , they are 5 litre or 1 gallon pots. they are round but i am sure if u had square ones they would make better use of the space . i use general hydroponic flora/micro/grow feed mix into 2 different mixs ( 1 vegging feed 1 bloom feed ) my mothers always get the vegging mix . clones when put into my flowering room get vegging mix until the bud sites start to form , roughly 2 weeks into 11/13. i them give them a diluted bloom mix for 1 watering and the full strenght untill they are 6 weeks into flowering, at this stage i give them general hydropnics Ripen for 10 days then i flush the plants with 3 times the amount of water to the volume of the pot ( ie. 5 litre pot > 15 litres of water ) . when i have done this i turn the lights off for the final week and cut on the 7th day after flushing. using this method all the plants grow a nice main cola and each plant produces between 1 to 1 and a half ounces each . the only pruning i do is to remove the small branches from the bottom to make it easier water them . oh by the way i use coconut fibre and clay pebbles as my grow medium . mix to a 50/50 mix.
and breath.................
I hope this helps
Hal
I will post pics of clones that are in flowering at the minute.

these are clones that are about 11 days into 11/13 all white widow , the pics of the buds are just the top 6/7 inches of the top colas when dried.

do you reuse the coco fiber, I use it a bunch but I've always been afraid to reuse it.

Shallow Hal

no mate i don't , it would be near impossible to have it fully cleaned . anyway its not that expensive , a couple of sold ounces covers any grow costs i have.

How often do you water, and how often do you flush, and do you feed with every watering? Also, have you had those kind of yields with any mostly indika strains?

kk here we go again , i feed every water and water only when the plant pots are totally dry . i am a firm believer that when u water less is more . in midsummer i could water every day due to the heat but here in the uk at this time of year once every 3/4 days is fine , the 5 litre poys get 500 mls or roughly 1 pint of water everytime i water . i also use " no mercy co2 tablets" in the water , i think they are great. i have grew hindu kush in 7 litre pots but they ended up 5 foot tall and hard to manage but it gave be on average 3 ounces a plant.
Doob the seeds are dutch passion fem white widow allow outta 100 seeds i got only 3 true females. soma seeds for the NYCD

Hey mate,
I gotta say that I have learned more from this thread in the three times ive read it than from most mags Ive read, I do have a couple questions that Im hoping you could answer. First, just to verify your light cycle is 11/13 and that would be 11on/13off? also when you say you have your plants off the the right hand side do you just have them on a shelf? and if so do they get enough light off to the side like that? I have a 4x4 room myself with a 1000w hps bulb and Five widow plants that are in about the 4th week of flowering and about another 14 clones in my veg room that have developed roots. For you clones are you using a cloning dome and heating mat? Im thinking of just putting a shelf on the wall and eliminating any shade that it may create with foylon hanging off the front. What do you think? Thanks for any help you are giving and have already given.

Mike

yes 11/13 os 11 on /13 off, i have 2 600 watt lamps which are on easy rollers. i am able to lower one light and keep the other up for my taller plants. making sure that all my plants get enuff light . the bulbs i am using are growlux dual spectrum bulb the give out an amazing 95000 lumens each so i have little problem with light averaging near 75 watts per square foot. i also have the room lined with mylar which reflects up 95% of the light as well. what i would advise u to do instead of pulling up a shelf , just to set ur plants on sumthing untill they are tall enuff to place on the ground along with the rest . if u do put a shelf up make sure ur able to fold it down when ur clones get up . this way ur not wasting any grow space u might have. i like for the first 4 or 5 days in the flowering to keep the light as far away as possible to allow the plants to get used to the HID then i lower the 600 watts down to about 24 inches from the tops . i leave my fan also blowing up into the light which i think helps keep the tops from getting too warm. yeah and i do use a cloning dome but not a heat mat . i found with the heat mat alot of my clones started to get mold before they rooted . my propagater was a heated one and i ended up cutting the plug off it and using it like normal one.
i hope this helps ya mate ,
Hal

I am wondering if I put up an adjustable shelf that will go from 6 inches off the ground right up to the light if that would work and took mylar and hung it off the front of the shelf that would eliminate any shaded areas in the room and allow me to easily adjust the height of the plants according to my other plants in the room. Again man I really appreciate this thread its been more helpful than you know. I look forward to seeing more pics of ur progress and if at all possible do you have any pics showing where your growing the shorter clones? Thanks again
