hmm, i think you can sort of induce a placebo effect on yourself, but never as strong as it would feel if you where actually stoned.
i can do it when ive smoked that day, when its still in my blood stream.

When we take a drug our bodies react to it. The body has now learned a new way of creating a certain state. Through hypnosis or any other method that works.. the drug state can be recreated. This is usually done by getting the person to remember a time they took the drug. I seen Derren Brown make a guy drunk. His friends said it was exactly the same as when he was inebriated. And the bonus is... no hangover! It's all about belief. I you believe you can do something.. you can. The placebo effect.

I'll try to dig out more info on this subject.

Placebo responses can be achieved with virtually any drug. As Bandler points out, it is not so much the action of the drug on the body, but rather the body's response to the drug that produces the action. If we can achieve an effective anchor to the drug, we should be able to recreate the body's physiological response to it.

Basically an anchor is like conditioning. When we meet a good friend we may feel good inside. That person has become an anchor that produces the good feeling.

You can then get that feeling by just remembering/imagining that person again.

Flash back is no different than a memory.
Imean, yes, they're different, but the same effect can come from remembering something on purpose. Try thinking about a traumatic expirience in your life. Think back on how you felt, really get inside that vibe.
Thats basically it.

Maybe try a hypnotist. Most of them know how to do it. It's just finding one that is willing. The cost will be offset by the amount of weed you have to pay for.

I love the placebo effect. You can do it yourself if you know how to change your beliefs. If you think of what IS possible rather than what is NOT possible then you can start finding solutions to get to where you want to be.

ugh...no.....in order for the placebo affect to work efficiently...you have to THINK its real.....if you do it by yourself.......you KNOW its fake

I remember listening to a track that I had bhounced to on E. I heard the song while sober and got the rush up my spine and head. The music was the anchor. But then my critical mind burst in and said "YOU'RE NOT ON e.. IT'S NOT REAL". The rushing stopped. The key is to convince your critical mind that it is possible. This can be done with asking the right questions until your mind is convinced that it is possible.

A little practice in the right direction goes a long way. As a kid you probably played make believe. Maybe we just have to get back to that childlike state.

Two things. Self-Conditioning. You CAN change your core beleifs, you just have to keep telling yourself your preferred beleif. Keep watching your thoughts, correcting those automatic assumptions of beleif, until eventually new memory takes place of old, and your core beleif is changed. My therapist showed me this.
And second, I too have felt baked while talking or thinking or hearing a certain song. It's why I love the ritual, becuase of how the ritual works. I only look at or feel my bong when i'm gonna get ready to smoke, I always play Boards of Canada Music Is Math when i'm smoking. So now, I take out my bong and play Music is Math, and I start to feel the rush of thc. Implementing anchors of memory to a physiological sensation. Just like a flashback.

Some more info...

What I find particularly suggestive about this course of experimentation is the idea that powerful and unusual altered states of consciousness can be, in a sense, filed away for later use, then activated at will, when necessary or useful. There are also some provocative suggestions concerning the functioning of memory in general, and in relation to all psychedelics. I tend to think that some of the phenomena that has been lumped under the heading "flashbacks" actually might be a memory effect created by the random anchoring and then cuing of an altered state, rather than any permanent biochemical change or damage to the user. To this end, I've made some small, less thorough experiments with anchoring using other psychedelics, with encouraging results.
