Calgary Police Commission Public Meeting

Tuesday September 19, 2006 @ 6:30 P.M.
Port Oâ??Call Hotel, Strathmore Room
1935 McKnight Blvd. N.E
Members of the public are invited to attend.
Public Meetings:

At least two weeks before a public meeting the Commission will accept potential agenda items from members of the public. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests with the objective of discussing those issues which the public consider to be timely and relevant. These meetings will include a presentation by the Calgary Police Service.

Community Meeting:

This meeting is dedicated to dialogue between the Calgary Police Commission, the Police Service, and all of Calgary's Community Associations. Community Associations are represented by their respective president or designate. Members of the public are encouraged to contact their Community Association president should they have any issues they wished discussed at this meeting.
Ad Hoc Meetings:

It is important that members of the public have access to the Calgary Police Commission as a group, in a meeting format, should the circumstances warrant.

Before a meeting can be convened, members of the public must make a request in writing to the Executive Director. The request should include a detailed description (no longer than two pages) of the issue they wish to discuss. The citizen would then be advised if an Open meeting is the appropriate forum to discuss the issue or if it can be dealt with in another fashion. If an Open meeting is appropriate, members of the public should be advised that at least a one-month waiting period is necessary in order to take care of scheduling and to allow for a detailed review of any additional documentation which might be required.
