I been into Citizens' Band since 1989 (http://www.geocities.com/openchannel4/museumCBmobile.html). In the UK it's gone down hill as a radio hobby over the years. I still have a couple of 40 channel radios and a mobile whip, probably a linear amp or two.

Last year I sat the Foundation Licence Exam (http://www.rsgb.org/getlicence/) for an Amateur Radio (http://www.rsgb.org/) licence. I passed and was granted a licence, but I haven't been able to purchase the equipment (http://www.kenwood.com/i/products/info/amateur/ts_480/index.html) and accessories I want yet as its rather expensive.

Anyone else into radio communications?

my step dad is really into that kind of stuff. He's got tons of vintage Collins and Yaesu equipment. I started to get into it when i was younger but never got my license. I think I might get back into ham radios though. It was pretty fun.
