View Full Version : Question about vaporizers..

Hey, I've heard that semi-moist weed is best to use in vaporizers when compared to dry weed.

So this got me thinking. Theoretically, could you vape uncured buds, since you technically wouldn't be burning them? The taste probably wouldn't be all that great, but I imagine it wouldn't be anywhere near as harsh as trying to smoke uncured bud.

Has anyone tried this? Or can anyone think of a reason why it wouldn't work?

Thanks. :)

I have a volcano and I have tried it :)

I have some lowryder - dried for about 5 days or so and then in the jar for maybe a week more - I tested some and the high was crisp but faded quickly.

The Vape did pull a lot out of the weed though - I guess some was still water etc but it tasted OK.

Now it has cured for a while longer though it is better (IMHO) but that's so subjective ;)

The thing is I think it takes a while for THC to degrade from its acid THCA form (doesn't get you high) to the regular THC we all know and love. So I'm not sure if the vaporizers "Uber-Dry-Cure" approach would work as such.

I tried it with some relatively fresh stuff and it was rubbish.

It needs to be dry and cured a little IMHO but your mileage may vary :)

It seems that cured bud does work best. I've tried adding moisture, thinking it would help, and it seemed to ruin the herb. On the other hand, if its so dry it turns to powder as you try to break it up, it might be too dry for the most pleasant vapour, but will still work much better than if you attempt to rehydrate it.

At least thats my experience with the AroMed.

I have a little Vapor Brother's GNES and occationally I do taste/potency tests on my budding weed. It helps me pick which plants to take clones from. I can get quite high from my wet bud- it tastes "green" for the first couple of hits, but then I can taste the bud and judge its potency. Dry definately tastes better.
