I want to get a thread started to talk about bucket hydro systems. Ive been growing for a long time now, i have always used "bubbling Buckets". The store where i get the parts kit From changed the name to areoponic bucket... If someone feels like giving me a quick refresher on the difference between the two, i would be greatful. Also i tried something new with absolutely amazing results!!!!!!!!

Experiment:

two bubbling buckets
2-100 watt hps
1-150 MH
hydrorock in 10' net pots.

I started with seeds. Germinated in jiffy pellets. I placed 4 in each bucket.
I had to wait just under two weeks for experiment to begin.
What i was waiting for was the roots to make it out the bottom of the 10' net pot. As anybody who grows hydro knows the growth spurt that follow right after they touch water. Well what i did was remove the dripper from B1(first bucket) and placed the airflow directly into the water. Where as before only about 50 % of the air goes into the water and 50% of the air comes back up with water ,which comes out the dripper. on the second bucket i left the way it was intended to be used. The reason i started this experiment was because i felt the roots could optimize more oxygen. So far it appears i was right. i let you decide for yourselfs. I am not sure if anyones tried this i am new to this forum, and just thought i would share something that worked amazingly for me.. Please post back,i love nothing more than to smoke weed grow weed and of course talk about weed

nice results
i run a drip system with sprinklers in the res and also felt that more oxygen could be introduced.....a few 12" airstones later i was happy :)

the more the better i say.

r u going to leave it for the rest of the grow?

Aeroponics is a method of delivering the nutrients to the roots by way of a sprinkler or mister.

Bubble buckets use air pumps and air stones. They rely on capillary action to supply the roots with nutrients.

That quick enough?

Well i did the experiment for 1 week ,more like 5 days more.. THese are high qulity seeds so i didnt want to waste them.i will put up pic of the day i changed both to no dripper system!!!! the result were instant!!! the second was far behind but since i decided to make some mommies out of the females in here, i put the second bucket under an extra 50 watts(b1 on 100 hps,b2 150 hps, both under 150 mh.) Now they have almost completely caught up to eachother.. I was going to see this experiment throu to flowering but the results were so concrete(dont worry have plenty of pics to back it up) i couldnt help me self. This is the fastest growth development i have ever accomplished. I know there are too many in each bucket.. but i placed them on 12/12 to see if i can quickly and carefully cut out the males. the roots are pretty intertwined but ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE!! i know they will get bigger but if anyone knows any technique for seperating plant s this close im all ears.

this is from a day or two later after first pic. as you can see b1 is far bigger THAN B2.

they havent needed one still thriving.the only water above the hydrorock is from misting
