I grow so that i dont risk my life by going and getting any off the streets and also so that i dont have to pay the outragous prices.
i grow coz i luv it :) not coz its illegal n im a rebel n shit lol, i luv growing plants, no matter wat they are. but weed is such an impressive plant to grow with many rewards :)

im thinking a lot of people grow for the same reasons...
i grow beacause its a very rewarding hobby, being good at growing any plant is a good thing for lots of reasons.i think its a positive and productive thing to do.
also i get lots of incredibly cheap weed, which has three benefits,
the first being that i dont have to mix with criminal types to buy any and all the problems associated with mixing with criminals.
i dont have to pay silly prices.
and i wont lie, i sell to close friends at good prices, which is good for them and good for me as it pays for production costs and helps take the sting out of any unexpected bills like car repairs or whatever.
everyones a winner! lol
and a theoretical benefit lol... if the worlds economy suddenly collapses ( not an outrageous theory what with all the wars and trade sanctions and the middle eastern oil wars that are going on ) theres riots in the supermarkets as supply chains dry up, how many average people could grow thier own food? thats a pretty valuable skill if the worst was to happen lol.

yeah i grow for myself as ive seen to many people put so many chemicals in there crops to get bigger profits but the shit just fucks with your head like one of my old dealers spraying the buds on drying with fly spray, what the fuck is that, its there way of selling what they think is a good high, but really it just messes with your mind and makes you go crazy....
growing for yourself is far more rewarding, cheap and you can cover all your costs.. get smoko that you know is safe.. its a really interesting hobbie and dont have to deal with people who abuse the plant.......

ive never heard of fly spray being used, thats both sick, and pointless.
the chemicals used in fly spray are VERY poisonous, it dosent affect humans purely because we are millions of times bigger than flies, so they only need a small dose to kill them.
sounds like an urban myth to me, why would somone put time and effort into growing nice ( even commercial grows need to be reasonably good )plants and spray them with concentrated poison?
sorry, but i dont buy that for a second, anyone selling that on a commercial scale, would either be killed by thier outraged customers, or die from fly spray inhalation, or at least develop some nasty tumours or somthing.

I'm old enough to remember buying decent ounces for $40, the days when a dime bag cost $10 and was a quarter ounce. I endured the price rises for a while, but when shwag started costing $150, that's where I drew the line, and decided I'd either produce my own or go without. I went without for around 3 years, then gave in, did the research, learned what I needed to learn, built what I needed to build and, finally, ordered some decent genetics and planted some seeds.
It's not solely to get high for me. Well, for ME, that's what it is. But the woman has a variety of medical issues, including terrible insomnia, and pot helps her sleep, with far fewer side effects, than the various pills which her doctor prescribed (which not only have side effects, but are also addictive). There are also some studies that hint at pot's potential ability to thwart some cancers, and to help osteoporosis (which the woman has). Seeing some of the things that pot can help with, medically, I wish I had started growing years before I did. But on the other hand, our house burned down last year, so I'm glad I had nothing growing at the time, because that could've been bad; the insurance company was dick enough to deal with without that complication.

does anyone grow just to sell?

I wouldn't spend my time and care for a plant as beautiful as cannabis just to turn around and sell all of it...that would be stupid. Buy cheap weed if you want to sell it. Grow it so you can grow something that fits your taste of weed...As long as you're growing for personal use also it greatly decreases the risk of getting caught.

I really don't think that's worth it. I mean, yeh, you can make cash, blah blah, but ask any farmer, there's much easier ways of making a living!
I love the feeling of opening the door to a room full of nice smelling plants, of any type. If it wasn't this, it would be flowers.
Some mornings I take my coffee and go sit in the flowering room to drink it. I put a wicker chair in there and in the wintertime when it's gray outside and nothing green around, it's the best feeling in the world being in a warm, bright room full of plants you raised yourself.
My absolute DREAM is to build a Victorian-style conservatory on the roof of my garage and fill it with tropical plants.
Wouldn't that be AWESOME?

I don't seem to be alone when I too grow for a variety of reasons.
Primarily, I'm a tech geek and I love pushing the envelope. I'm in the design/contruction process of my fifth grow box and this one is a totally LED light powered grow box. How good will the results be? I don't care! It's fun.
Also, I am assured the quality of what I grow and I can control the process every step of the way. I can experiment with organics or mystery chemicals (though as I get older I am leaning more towards organics... have you guys tried worm castings yet? They are awsome. I have to buy some more worms!!).
Yeah, and I will shamefully admit that it makes me feel like a bad boy. Yup, that's pretty pathetic. Hey, I'm still building up the nerve to buy an issue of High Times! LOL!!!

i grow for pretty much the same reason everyone else does, i can come up on some needed money very quickly if i had to, its an interesting hobby, weed prices are outrageous, etc etc but theres one main reason i grow,
when you spend all that time, money and hard work you put into it and your crop is harvested and curing and you load that first bowl and take the biggest rip you can and you take it in you feel like...DAMN! i grew this...i did this, i made this dank badass weed and it feels like that everytime you hit it
thats why i grow, for the feeling of satisfaction....thats followed by a heavy stone

I do because its killing me $$ wise. Plus its a fun hobby and I don't want to deal with shady people. Plus any extra I have left over I can sell to dispensaries to provide patients with good quality meds, it covers my growing costs and actually makes a little extra pocket change. They will only pay about 150-200 and Oz though and turn around and double that, but its cool though. I have yet to have my first harvest im about 1 month into my first grow.

Ha ha yeah…anytime I’m buying something questionable as I wait in line I’ll try and situate myself in line to get the “best” cashier.
“OK who’s next”….”ummm not me I’m still look at all this fine crap you have for sale in the check out line.” When all I really want to do is wait for the fine brother in the dreads.

The only reason I could think anyone would wanna grow is for personal or medical use or for profit. If I could pick any I would eliminate medical and profit because personal use is the only reason I use marijuana anyways. It's just what I like to do. Some like to consume ethyl alcohol, I like to consume THC :p.

i agree orangeman luckily i was blessed with good health so i don't smoke for medicinial purposes its strictly to catch a buzz and relax. it helps that i love to grow things. and they are beautiful plants. they grow so well here too just have to water daily and feed them. im sad that they have to be hidden in the back of my garden, i would love to plant them all around the house and in the yard (it would make taking care of them easier too) but its not fair that my friends can drink alcohol in the evening, even out in public and that is legal but i have to slink around to smoke a few joints in my own home. well anyway i feel better now. thanks

I grow because hydroponics is really fun and cannabis is a beautiful plant that produces the most intense aromas. I love it!

I grow because its very rewarding in many ways. Putting your time
and effort into growing is like any hobby I think it is good for you
mentally (other than the paranoia that comes along with it) Seeing
something you grew yourself makes you feel good. And what a great
end result you get from it. :D
And smoking something you grew yourself is much better than
buying it from a dealer.

 Believe it or not, Im not a pothead. But I grow, and I grow these beautiful plants with a passion. I smoke from time to time, very rarely though, cause getting shit done is impossible for me when Im stoned(maybe I just havent been smoking the right shit), but I grow because marijuana is the most fascinating plant. There are some cool plants, like those carnivorous ones or those ones the have other crazy mind-altering substances, but marijuana is the most beautiful, the most unique(each strain within itself as well), and the smell is unbelievable. I am in the middle of my second grow, and Im growing about 6 different strains, all with different aromas, size, and overall growth. Ive also been using hydro, which is fantastic because you really get in touch with all the nutrients(macro and micro) the plants need, and the whole experimentation of everything is totally mind-opening. I wouldnt trade this hobby for the world...and if any of you out there can dig what Im saying...yell HELL YEA!!!
