ok.. so im going to start growing for the FIRST time.. ive learned pretty much almost all i need to know and i have a few questions......

1. Im worried about the smell. Im growing in an attic at a friends house and it has no windows... Should I truly worry about this during flower stage?... IF so i heard you can use a "filter" how much are those and how do they work? And would it produce efficient air for my plants...?

2. What kind of soil compound should I use? Will they sell this at a local grow shop? How much will it cost?... And what kind of a base should I use for minimum price but still decent enough to succeed.

3. I am not planning on growing many plants... How many plants would you reccomend to start at first. I was planning on buying one or two 250 watt HPS lights.

4. For the watering pattern I know it is Nutrient Water one day and regular water the other day.. as a 1/1 pattern. How many times a day and how much water needs to be absorbed.

No, you haven't.
Get a few grows under your belt, and you STILL will be learning! It's the beauty of this hobby.

1. Im worried about the smell. Im growing in an attic at a friends house and it has no windows... Should I truly worry about this during flower stage?... .
I'd be more worried about properly ventilating your grow.
The plants want FRESH AIR and LOTS OF IT.
In an attic you can vent right out and I'll betcha even without a filter no one smells it.
My attic stinks to high heavens. But you don't even get the littlest whiff outside.

IF so i heard you can use a "filter" how much are those and how do they work? And would it produce efficient air for my plants...?.
You can use one. You can buy one or build one, so a big range of prices.

They work by you put activated carbon in them and the aromatic compounds are chemically stripped of some of their components and lose their odor.

It will not produce air. Air comes from the atmosphere. You have to duct it in somehow.

2. What kind of soil compound should I use? .
A rich well-drained one.
Buy potting soil, or make your own. You can find soil recipes all over the place but my basic standby includes composted manure, topsoil, and perlite.
You can get those things anywhere. Probably about $20 a grow.

Will they sell this at a local grow shop? .
Mebbe an mebbe not. I've never been to your local grow shop. Why don't you just call them and find out?

How much will it cost?... .
I know but I'm not tellin'.

And what kind of a base should I use for minimum price but still decent enough to succeed..
I think that for the best displat of your plants you should put them on a base made of marble, with a little bronze plaque that says their names.

3. How many plants would you reccomend to start at first. .
Germinate at least 10 seeds because you are a newb and you will probably have problems, so if you want to make it worthwhile you're going to want a bunch of plants to abuse, rather than just 1. And the abuse gets spread around evenly amongst them.

I was planning on buying one or two 250 watt HPS lights..
Okay... that sounds like a plan. But veg the plants under flouros, not HPS.

4. For the watering pattern I know it is Nutrient Water one day and regular water the other day.. as a 1/1 pattern. .
No it isn't.

How many times a day and how much water needs to be absorbed.
When the soil is almost, but not quite dry, then you water until the soil is wet.
