Just wondering how peple felt about the U.S.'s automatic rejection of
Iran's offer for a live debate on TV with George W. Bush and Iran's
president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I think that not allowing an open
discussion of mattes that involve serious consequences is foolish and
putting pride before rational thinking. Of course the U.S. media, for
that fact hardly any media, has barely any mention of this chance for
resolve in the form of diplomacy, something George Bush "hopes for maore
than anything". Ha. Any views? Here's the link.

I don't think Bush is our ideal champion in what would be a battle of wits. Condi could take Ahmaniblablajab though. ;)

In a battle of wits G.W. is an unarmed man. Let's you know the quality of our leadership though. Could you imagine if we had a Lincoln or Jefferson as President now? They would love the opportunity and hand Mahmoud's ass to him.

That's interesting, considering Saddam Hussein also challenged George Bush to a live national television debate shortly before the Iraq invasion, of which he also rejected. I noticed that one was quickly made quiet as well.

Yeah well, being brainwashed helps us bear our misery. Maybe one day we can hope to be the trouble-free country that Ireland is.

burn. nah this is about open discussion. of course GW would lose to a 12 yr. old in a debate. but thr important idea is open discussion. talking is the first thing you learned in elemntary school to resolve conflicts. why can't Amerika do the same? violence breeds more violence, people just can't understand that. if we listened to iran, we could see why they (and most of M.E.) hates us. that would help more than any amount of bombing could do. b/c when you bomb you leaver a history of violence against somebody, who can then later use that violent history against them for fuel to more violence against the aforementioned bombers.

My message to the world is this: Just treat us the way we treat you. That's all we expect"GwB
I cant yet confirm this above quote, but have heard it from several sources its from his labor day speech i think.......but anyways saying things like that especially from Bush is absurd...he couldnt win a debate with himself
