I live in Northern Cal. It's been a great year and my plants got sooooo big so fast (Compost tea every other watering!!!)that I decide to light dep a few of them to see how they would do. I started about 35 days ago. I set up a frame and completly covered them from 6PM to 6:30 AM. They are doing GREAT! Big Fat Happy Buds!! They could be picked any time in the next two weeks or so(nice clear tricomes now, they should turn milky, then amber during the next 14 days)
HERE IS MY QUESTION: Now that the buds are fully formed (and all my other plants are well into their bud cycle) can quit covering these plants. I would love to hear from growers that have some hands on experiance with this, but it would be great to hear any opoinions that are out there.
One thing that I have definatly noticed is that, although the light dep'ed plants have done great the plants that I have left alone grew alot more in the last 30 days and will end up producing much more (i.e. its nice to have early smoke, but you will be giving up stash in the long run)

I have never covered my outdoor plants to induce flowering. I just like to let mother nature take her course. But I believe if you were to stop the light depletion to the plants that you have been covering you might stunt the plant. Because it will have to get used to the light cycle that is being produced naturally. But since your plants are so close to finishing I am not sure. The other plants became bigger because they were exposed to a natural flowering cycle not a controlled one. But I am not sure since they are so close to finishing. Good LucK :D

I took my plnts inside to induce flowering for about a week. Then, I put them back outside once I saw a few pistils. The Indica dominant strain kept flowering, while the Sativa Dominant Strain didnt under 13.5/10.5 natural lighting conditions.
