Yeah. This holds true mostly. You really shouldn't cheap out on most stuff. And I'm just a noob. But except for someone trying for quantity, like a commercial grower, I think you can put together a pretty nice little grow box, and get 1 or 2 plants of some good dank shit for less than $100-$200, if you do your homework.

By the way, at the beginning of this forum it says " Sticky: Don't post questions in this forum". But grow questions keep being moved here. Like a lot. What's up with that?

They get moved here because they don't need to be posted all over the forum from intoductions to experiences. They're then moved from here to the appropriate forum (most of the time)
Save us the trouble by posting in the appropriate forum.:thumbsup:

We all kind of try and keep up with as much as we can, but most Mods are in their own comfort area...I was hired to take care of cultivation...And It is kind of Zandor's baby...Well, I guess Bob or whoever is moving/moderating grow question's placed in an inappropriate board to the grow lounge...Well Z and I are kind of anal about it; so we in turn move the threads as Bob explained above...Hope this clarifies your query...peace

... back to the whole grow cheap get cheap thing... i dont think this is 100% true... I bought 2 double flouro's (4 tubes in all) as a sort of experiment i have 8 flowering females under them that have about 3 weeks until harvest and im looking at a decent amount of bud all for under $20... im sure i could get alot more with a 400 watter.. but still im not doing badly at all ..

I grew with tube fluorescents for many years, excellent quality smoke, too ... I finally switched to a 400-watt HPS for flowering, though, just because the yield is greatly improved over the fluoros ... fluoros are still great for vegging ... gentle, even light, and low temps, I'm not even considering a metal halide ... :smokin:

you can easily grow for 100.00
if you can get a empty dresser or cabinet you can turn that into a grow box you can pick up a 150watt hps system for 40.00 on the net and that leaves 60.00 for soil, pots, nutes, and mylar or white paint for reflective walls.
i started my box for 75.00 with a 150watt hps box is 32x16x16 is an old cabinet but it works just wish it was a little bigger it can house 2 plants.

SMALL 2 DOOR CABINET= $34
4-LIGHT (Bathroom) FIXTURE= $15
4 COOL WHITE BULBS= $20
COMPUTER FAN=$5
SEEDS= $75( but I only used 4 of 'em); so= $15
POTTING SOIL= $4
FERTILIZER (I bought cheap 30-10-10 and haven't decided if I'll use it)= $5
I had mylar already and have added a clamp light and couple more bulbs but I didn't have to. And I'll probably be buying a PH meter and some warm white bulbs sometime (if I can find 'em but I have 4-42W soft whites if I can't), so the total comes out to just under $100. I'm sure I'm gonna be spending more but most of this stuff can be used again, making growing even cheaper next time. So what I'm getting at is the common individual grower can grow for himself some pretty dank shit not spending mad bucks if he does his homework.

Oh I forgot pots, but cheap ones work good so maybe another $5.
