I love smoking mother nature. I also love watching mother nature. I live out in the boonies (30 miles from civilization, on a dead end road) surrounded by dense woods. I love summer evenings. This has been my first summer with an unlimited amount of good weed available. Since I live alone out here, with my two useless hound dogs and two goats, I love sitting on my front or back porch, at sunset watching: deer, foxes, hawks, owls, snakes, wild turkey (both kinds) etc. and listening to ten billion tree frogs trying to get lucky. Being stoned - priceless. One unexpected visitor last week: somebody's 150lb pot-belly pig showed in my driveway.....if it's yours, please come and get it.....it eats like a hog.

I went to Bonnaroo with some friends I hadn't seen in a while. Mainly worked on the house (it burned down last year, still getting it restored, piece by piece). Also planted an oak tree, and learned the joys of cannabis cooking. All in all, a pretty mellow and pleasant summer. ;)

LOL My chiropractor lives in Vermont and her pet pig always gets loose. The thing can open doors- it's really smart.
What I did this summer....
Worked my 9-5 (or 10-4:30 or whatever hours I feel like keeping, since I'm laid off in 2 weeks anyway and no longer give a rat's ass).
Worked in the gardens, indoor and out.
Played with the dog.
Had friends to dinner at least 2 nights a week for Italian food and homemade goo-hash.
Went kayaking as much as time allowed.
Looked for and got a new job.

Yes, for sure everyone should live in the country.
I grew up and was raised living in the country, but as of now I need to live in the city to get to work...or buy some sort of flying bubble to get to work without burning all the gas.
But as soon as I am financially able, i'll be building myself a big ol' backwoods retreat. Seclusion is great.
Neighbours SUCK!!! Nosey bastards.
By the way, I'll bring the whiskey

Had lunch and watched tourists mill around and then went over to the locks and watched cargo move. Not a bad time! US side is a tourist trap and Canada side was a traffic jam, and it was really hot that day, so I just got back on the highway and headed east on 17. What a nice ride!

Dutch Pimp, I'm glad this thread was revived, and I hope it gets more attention. It's nice just to sit back on a porch and visit awhile; seeing as how this board doesn't really have a porch, hopefully folks will find this thread to be such a gathering place.
I used to live in North Mississippi, out in the country a bit, and it was pretty darn nice. I hope to one day have a nice piece of land, so I can retreat to the peace and quiet (cicadas, crickets, and tree frogs aside). I've traveled through the mountains of Tennesee over to North Carolina a few times, and there is some really nice country up in those mountains.
I've attached a photo taken from not far from home, back around the start of the New Year. I've made it my background for now - it's pretty relaxing to me. I've also taken a picture of 1 of my dogs, rolling around on her back by the pool - pretty much sums up my Summer - hanging by the pool and basking in the sun as much as possible (of course, having plenty of spf 50 on).
I hope the rest of your Summer is good, and that you have some cool breezes come your way, my friend!

We use to have a porch here......it was called the Growers Lounge. That's where this thread started.
...anyways...thanks for the reply...those are fine pics....enjoy your summer...jakezking...:bump2:...thankyou...thankyou verymuch.

One thing that's been mentioned in this thread, and I think everyone should be able to appreciate is the sublime nature of a good porch. There's something about it that makes it my favorite place to hang out...
