I first put up 4 42W cfls. But on advise from a coule sources, I replaced 2 of those with cool whites. Soft white=3500k, cool white=6500k, warm whites=2500k. So at 3500k do you think it's okay to flower using the soft whites cause the 3500k is close to that optimal 2500k? By the way I'm going to put one of those 42W bulbs back in with it's own extra socket. I figure the more, the merrier.

Oh yeah. And I got sprouts. I think I'll mist 'em a little later. Also my Timex timer didn't work last night. I'm messing with it now and it seems to be working alright. I'm wodering if the wattage caused it to malfunction. Shouldn't have though. It only had like 140W from the lights and whatever that desk fan was drawing. Maybe I just had to cycle it cause it didn't work right first try this morning, then did after I went around and set it again. That'd suck if the damn piece of shit screwed up my grow. I'd sue the bastards.

Sue the bastards for trying to grow weed? LOL

I think you can grow with any kind of light. I think the main thing is the amount of hours and watts of light on the plants. Last grow (first grow) I used the wrong lights for veg and I still got some good bud. I just replaced my 400W MH with a 400W HPS about two minutes ago. Just to mix it up. I'm still in the veg stage. I think the best way is to provide all the colors to the plant just like the sun does. You are told to use each type for each stage for optimum results.

I don't even use my Timex cause it's a pain in the ass to program. Now that you mentioned it, I'm gonna go grab mine and play with to see if I can get it right. Most of the time I program it, the light does NOT come on :(

David my friend, stop the panic - read what latewood said to you on your last thread.

"You are doing okay" - I was just like you, stressing over every little thing, tackle it one step at a time - they are perking the surface (perky little things) good.

I'm chillin' now and because no one has come onto my thread and said "you aren't doing this right" or whatever, then it's all good - and your set up sounds alot better than mine!

I joined this site four weeks after I had thrown six seeds into a cheap growbag (99c) - and they grew! (was using common orange houshold bulbs at that time!)

You'll be okay, be patient - read between the lines of books, people who post etc. etc.

Hope you are okay, my arthritus is bad today... roll on harvest (hope this works, no more dealing with Criminals!)

Light - your friend - Hall

Thanks man. I'm chillin' more now. I'm just excited to see the little boogers.
Maybe the weather's buggin' you if it's raining or high humidity. My wife had Lupus before she passed and it was worse in high humdity. Sorry to hear you feel bad. Hope smokin' a bowl helps. Yeah, right on about that criminal stuff.

Yes, you can flower with those lights but the buds will never reach their full potential. The reason for this is the spectrum that the soft white and cool white CFL's produce. They predominantly produce light in the blue spectrum which is ideal for foliage growth. The warm white CFL's produce light in the red spectrum which is ideal for flowering. Try to get your hands on some warm white CFLs but if you can't just work with what you got. The results should be pretty good but no where near what they could be.
