hello folks,

I want to get a wee garden of my own going in my house and would appreciate any advice from those who know. Never grown ANYTHING before so there's a good chance i'll make a mess of it, and would hate to see that happen.
I'm planning on buying some feminised seeds online (any tips on which strain will give me a good kick and not be too delicate would be great!!), and trying to grow 4 girls for my first grow. This will leave me a few seeds to try again if it goes to the dogs.

I have a spot picked out, which is a disused chimney wide and high enough for 4 plants I recon(though it might get crowded near to the end), and plan to use some CFL's, mylar or such, and a standard fan for circulation. The chimney goes straight up and doesn't tapper as it rises so i should be able to adjust the height of the lamps to anything from 2' from ground to 5'-6' above ground without any problems. I'm planning on building a box within, with an adjustable top side to hang the lights from that could go further up the chimney as i needed it. I'll use some tubing to allow air to get up throught the top and into the chimney itself. A strain that grows bushy as opposed to tall may suit better. Or if you'va any tips how to grow in a small area either.

If anyone has some good advice or links I'd really appreciate the help. I'm just fed up of having to deal with dealers, and I'm in the midst of the worst drought Ireland has seen in a long, long time. I want my own supply!

THE BEST ADVISE THAT YOU'LL GET AT THIS TIME IS,,,,,,,,,,,, READ, READ AND READ SOME MORE.

As far as seeds go i'd recomend Lowryder. It's a small plant, and it buds under 18 hours of light. The plant is ready for harvest about 8 - 9 weeks after germintation. And they are damn easy to grow.

I hear you about dealers. I just got beat for $300. I was supposed to get an ounce of some good shit but ended up with SHIT. I want to go and throw a brick through his window. I'm considering staying sober until my plants are ready. A different time a guy pulled a gun on me. I'm tired of the hassle to get it on the streets. If you want to grow them low start with the CFL's and keep them very close to the plant and they will stay short and bushy. Then use HPS for flowering. Keep in mind that the CFL's for veg should be 6500k color temp. I have some White Widows going and they are very short and as wide as the pot right now. Did I mention that I want to throw a brick through his window?

I'm blind with information from one source or another and at times they do conflict, but like the man says read up a bit.
Knowledge is a good start - you'll have time to ask questions later as they grow (presumably you have a place to grow).

All the best

Well if you wanna grow no ones gonna take their time to come here and explain the whole thing to you. You should've known your replies were gonna be "read". Well mines is read and watch. Read all the info you can and watch all the growing videos you can. When you've basically got all the info your probably gonna need for basic growing come around here and read through the threads and learn from peoples mistakes and learn even more. When you finally take the time to read you'll find out that theres so much info out there and it's free if you know where to look.
