I thinking of putting a extraction fan in my Budbox to keep the temp down, at present I need to keep the flaps open with a 16" fan pointed inside the tent to achieve around about 80oc with the 400HPS lamp about 15" away from ground zero.
Has anybody used either a Ruck or systemair pulling around 225m3/hr for the systemair and 350m3/hr for Ruck and achieved the goal of cooling the tent near the bottom running a 400HPS? I will also run a small fan inside to move air around.

The other thing is how quiet are these fans? I've read most of the threads here and seem to get the impression that they are very load, is this the case. The Ruck comes in at 65dB(A) with the systemair at 39dB(A), but the Ruck is more powerful for the same size fan (Both 125).

Also, if I wanted to move the fan into the loft space, in practical terms how long can I run the duct from the fan to the tent and still get good air flow?

hey there bazzae i have a Acoustic Extraction/Filtration Kit with a ltiExtractor Fans 4" RVK100 A1 and the extractor fan hardly makes a noise.. i allso have a 16inch osolating fan inside my tent and that makes far more noise then the extractor fan.. allso if u buy the extractor fan and find it is to loud .. which i doubt you will .. u can simply buy a silencer which would eliminate the noise.. on how long u can run ur duct with good air flow sorry im not sure.. but im sure sum1 else will be able to help you out.. happy growing:thumbsup:

You get what you pay for.
Go for a quality fan that guarantees quiet.
Plus a bigger diameter vent duct is quieter.

Fans are never completely silent at full power, unless your using a speed controller.
