I suppose it's kinda hard to ride and smoke but i tend to be OK at multitaskin' so its never been a prob' for me i love my board maybe more than i should. in case your all wondering i ride flatland and a little bit of street not into ramps to scared of heights LOL even though i love gettin' HIGH what a contradicton eh? i love flatland 'cause its more technical than rushing toward a rail and trying to get on it (though i would love to get on it) or jumping down a set of 40 steps thats cool but not my cup o'tea, i'm not awsome by anyones standard but i love sk8in' , have a toke and sk8 on in PEACE

I like smoking n skating also, but just a few good drags or else my legs become ruber. Someking and skateing makes me feel more with my board if that makes sence. I cant explain it. Im a street fan as well, but I stake anything if I get the chance. Skate till your to old to stand.

ha, i have a sector 9 bamboo mini, it's like one of the oldschool type boards from lords of dogtown but rides pretty advanced, like to bomb gnarly hills and do cool powerslides, and theres nothing funner then skating while lifted, you become so creative with your tricks

I used to skate alot better stoned, perfect balance with faster reflexes. I don't skate much anymore now that I moved into this hot shithole, I'd probably die from heat exhaustion after 30 minutes. Used to have some of the greatest times of my life.

Been skating for about 12 years now.. started as a little boy riding to school and got my ass sponsored when I moved to cali. I was 16 then, and full of energy. I didn't smoke much when I first moved here so I skated all the fucking time, thus increasing my skills quite a bit. I then re-started smoking everyday and I basically completely stopped now. I feel like it's fucking up my knees, legs, and back.. and I usually am too stoned to have the motivation to find new sick spots unfrequented by fucking pigs. ;)
When I do have the motivation to skate high though.. man it gets intense. My mind/body connection is so much stronger than usual it's almost scary at times. I'll pop a ollie and halfway in the air I'll have time to think what trick to do at this point, quite a feeling! It's like I improvise in what way to kick the board while in midair!
Keep on skatin' !

SocksTaClown wow ten years and u done how much damage to your body? fkin hell i have been sk8in' for 7 years the most i have done is sprain my wrist ,my ankle and catch the board with my groin a few times man i must be lucky.

It's pointless to try to remember all of my injuries..but one accident in specific:
Skitching..a bad idea(especially @ 30mph) When he was shifting into third gear...I fall, tumble, and slide. Fractured elbow and a hole about as big as a quarter exposing the bone on my elbow. Scratches all on my arms and back. Road burns. It sucked.
But yeah, skateboarding's pretty cool. Kinda like flying in a way...especially if you're high.

I have been skating for..hummmm 21 years or so....
I got my first job in a skate shop in Boulder Colorado back in 85.. is stole my moms car at 15 to go tho the interview.
I lived to skate all day every day, then i was all about snowboarding and skating.
I have worked in the snowsports industry as a rep, buyer, manager, sales person for many many years.... you could say it was my life. Then I got married and have kids and my family is my life.
My worst accident on a skate board.....
we used to do these things where you would skate up to a wall and press into a hand stand with your board going up the wall.
I would put the deck on one foot in a hand stand and and spin it like a top on my foot.
Well one day the deck came down of my foot and and landed on my Pinky finger. It broke it so bad that when i stood up my finger was pointing at me. I had to spend the night in the hospital from a broken pinkey....
Worst injury snowboarding.... I broke my sismoid in my foot, a little bone under the ball of your foot. We were tripping, and hucking off cliffs. I notice my foot hurt but didnt go tothe doctor...till when i kept lifting my toe and it would break again and again.....
So i went under the knife...he used local anastetic (sp) so while i was laying there he said " ok wiggle your toes" i looked up and he was holding my foot open, and i saw all my stuff move inside my foot. I have the bone still in a jar in storage. <<< that is a snowboarding sovinier. Bone out of foot hahahah, most people just get the t shirt.

I don't skateboard, I rollerblade and have been for almost 10 years now. I actually have a tat in reference to "rolling" on my right tricep. And let the flaming begin.
I love skating and smoking. My friends and I would always go skate a good session and then usually pass a nice blunt on the way home.
Now, I toke before, during and after. It took some time at first to get used to skating high but once I got over it, I started killing shit. When I smoke, I can actually get almost a tunnel vision on a trick, handrail gap whatever that I want to try and the possibility of anything but luck leaves my mind.

i used to film/edit skate videos with my friends when i was in 8th/9th grade. then i started smoking pot, and spent my camera funds on bud. anyways, heres an old link to a video i made.http://fivetoonecrew.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/testdemo.wmv
see the mexican kid who mainly skates in that red shirt with the fro. that kid could go am now. this was filmed 3 years ago or so.
i still longboard though. ive got a sector 9 (not sure of the model) but its like 46 inches (idk the exact measures)
i remember once i was going about 35-40+ down this bridgehttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/iancanfield/image002.jpg and i busted ass. i started getting speed wabbles in my nose towards the end, and at the last 20 yards of the bridge or so, there is this sand patch/crack/drainage thing. i hit that shit and flew forward several feet then skidded on my whole right side of my body. it sucked. i had road burn on my whole right side of my body down to about my knee and tore open my hip to where you could see my fat practically. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/iancanfield/7701aa7b.jpg
this was well over a year ago and ive still got scars.

I have a bamboo mini, another S9 (forgot what its called..37in) Brad Edwards 40in Gravity and a Pool board 37in which is a gravity too.
Just give me 3 hits off a bowl and a mini and I'm straight for a night of skating.

Damn, I suck at skateboarding unless Im decently blazed (honestly I still suck, but its waaayy more fun and easier). Falls dont seem to hurt as much and yes indeed I feel the focus factor that alot of you have mentioned. My fave is big halfpipes and bowls when toked. It seems that I can concentrate better and I fear heights less.

ive been skating again recently (but not much). i can ollie fine but i can never get my kickflips or heelfhips down. the board will spin fine but the board always lands a little too much behind my feet. i dunno what to do about that

I had the same problem the deal seemed to be, for me anyway, where I put my feet before actualy leaving the ground. If you have your foot in the ollie position and the ollie kinda high and flick your toe off the side the board should stay below you. I used to hang my heel off the edge and balance my front foot on the toe to make the board flip better, but the board always flipped realy well but went somewhere else than under me. Experement and see what placements give you more control and practice practice practice. Heelflips Im told are easier, but I think kickflips feel more natural. I dunno if this helps but good luck and have fun either way!

whats the worst thing about being a rollerblader?
(what's that?)
having to come out to your parents.

Lol, funny. But I assure you that it won't be me that will be mistaken for a 14 year old kid with a birdhouse shirt that hangs out in front of Pacific Sunwear.
I'm pretty sure that repping a sport whose's idols are selling your image and culture out to every popculture outlet feels real nice.

That's exactly why I quit for awhile, it's selling out... and it sucks to be a part of it.

I used to skate so hard when I was younger, but now I just shatter if I fall on a set of 10 stair or something. I still love the sessions though, especially a chill street set up or mini ramp. And there is nothing like carving around stoned on a longboard.

I started skating in 8th grade, continued through my sophomore year and got kinda serious with it. Never got sponsored, never had any serious injuries, i just skated and had fun. I eventually ended up quitting because it got to the point where i skated so i could be better than my other friends, and it got less and less fun. Then i started smoking, and totally stopped skating, but i started up again recently. Also for my 17th birthday i got a longboard offline and its sweet. Me and 2 other friends used to skate down these trails and just pass a joint while we skated. Fun Times.
