Hey guys just had a few questions. Me and my friend are going to a concert where the lead singer of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters is going to be performing Dark Side of the Moon and other stuff. I was just wondering if anyone had been to one of these concerts and what kind of drugs are available. Me and my friend most want to do mushrooms or acid the most there. Are these drugs usually plentiful at a concert like this? Thanks

hi babe
i went to see pink floyd during their division bell tour way back in 95
it was held in rotterdam football stadium and it was electric . as we were staying in amsterdam at the time we brought our own weed and some lsd acid tabs when we arrived their was so much love in that audience joints were just being passed to and from everywhere along with tabs and trips.
it was the best experience of my life.
peace love jo

I adore David Gilmour far more than Roger Waters. David's guitar abilities are amazing, but then again Roger has a great talent writing some of the best lyrics ever. Roger is coming to either Philly or Pittsburgh next month I believe, which isn't too far from my location now.. some friends and I are going to try and hit that concert up.
I agree Billionfold, Syd was the heart and soul of the group before his decline into his crazy mental state. But I think Gilmour was a great replacement... for sure. :) Sorry to see Syd go though.

I have 20 hits of acid and Floyd is coming to my small town of Mountain View. Would I enjoy the acid there, one hit maybe, or would the crowd just freak me out. Would acid or weed be better for Floyd?

Ahh Figment...I miss seeing the Dead at Shoreline. Alpine Valley in Wisconsin, and Autzen Stadium in Oregon were great venues for the Dead but Shorleline was always "home" to me. So many good memories...:(
Anyhow, it's Roger Waters at Shoreline, not Floyd. I've seen both on their last tours and there's a big difference.
I saw Floyd at the Oakland Coliseum last time they came around in '95. Unbelievable show, best I ever went to. There was like 80,000 people but our seats were 13th row, dead center. We stood in line for 18hrs to get those seats. Anyhow, Floyd had the whole production. In addition to the music(always awesome) the show itself was fantastic. Lasers, pyrotechnics, etc etc. It really blew me away.
When Waters came around in 2000 I saw him at Shoreline. Of course the music was great, but there was pretty much no "show" at all. Just him and the band on the stage, sometimes with a movie playing behind him. It was almost like he was saying "I've got the music, I don't need any special effects to have a good concert.". Don't get me wrong, it was a great concert, Roger Waters playing mostly old Floyd tunes can't be bad. It just wasn't what most folks were expecting.
On the other hand, when I saw Waters back in 1985, for the Pro's and Con's Tour, the show was billed as a "multimedia extravaganza in quadrophonic sound" and it lived up to it. I think back then he was trying to make a statement that he was Pink Floyd so naturally the show came along with him.
It will be interesting to see what his show is like this time around, especially since he's doing the entire Dark Side. The fact that he's doing the entire Dark Side has me a bit curious in itself. I mean, except for the last song, Gilmour did pretty much all the singing on Dark Side. Will Waters handle the vocals? Or, like he did on the last tour, will he have someone else sing Gilmour's parts? Makes you wonder, doesn't it.
Should be a great show no matter what.

Yeah, just smoke. There should be PLENTY of bud going around at a Pink Floyd concert.
