Ever been to China Town Fair?
That arcade place downtown at 8 Mott St.
They close at 12am but close at 2:30am on Fridays and Saturdays. Insane.
It's mostly full of figher games, pretty much all the good ones ever made.
From Super Street Fighter II Turbo, to Street Fighter III Third Strike, from Marvel Super Heros to Marvel vs Capcom 2, from the earliest King Of Fighters ever made to KOF 2003, Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Power Stone- to fighers I've never even heard of before that are either very new or very old.
Also lots of airplane shooters like 1942 or Raiden and old pacman to Arknoid and such and the usual DDR to only a single gun shooter game Time Crises 4. A photo stand even. Drinks. Quite helpful when you get thirsty from all the mind focusing gaming.
Occasionally you get cute girls that come by with their bfs or even some that have fun.
An L shaped room with a whole galaxy of multiiplayer games, fighters, and shooters. Most of the games only costed a token or two. 1 tokrn is worth a quarter.
I got in at 12 or 12:30 and most of the people there were black. They were really good though. There was that same white guy with blonde hair that kinda looks like Seth Green in a small way I ALWAYS see playing there. He was hogging Capcom vs SNK 2 playiing against some black dude for the ENTIRE time I was there! They should really just play at home if they keep wasting all that money..
Yessir, this place is a whole lot cheaper than that fuckin loud and expensive Broadway Arcades in Times Square where it costs so fucking much that you actually have to put loads of money onto a card so you don't have to keep putting in coins.
Ah yes the moment some of you have been waiting for.
THE CRACK HEAD!
Yes, I swear, only once did I spot a crack head in China Town Fair. A black late 30s year old man with a cap, fucked up front teeth and an old looking gray jacket and dirty pants. Playing SF Alpha 2. He was Chun Li I remember but put in token after token losing every round. His movements I remember were the most memorable. He had trouble handling the joy stick and his body would actually move with his hand. So when he would charge Chun Li's Spinning Bird kick with down on the joy stick, his back would move out or he would sorta croutch and when he did the up + kick he would would throw in his body with a thrust.
Really weird if you see how he did it.
Damn crackhead.
Getting there and back was hell though. I just got home actually. It took over 2 hours to get there and over an hour to get back. Lots of train troubles. However the thing about walking in Manhattan is that every block has a photographic moment. Every block looks like a movie shoot.
There's always different and interesting looking people.
I've been to China Town, Little Italy then Bleeker street then to 2nd ave for the train. It felt like traveling from China to Italy to funky town America.
at 1:30am, Walking past the bars are insane because the streets are always crowded with drunken loud mid 20s people. Hot chicks though.
I just missed the train and waited 15 minutes for the 2am train to come. Someone next to me waiting for the train was reading Siddartha. I had to read that book in 10th grade.
In the train when I reached 42nd st, these giggly girls who were mad hot came in and they kept laughing over stupid shit. I couldn't tell if they were high on something or just drunk. Fun watching them.
The usual sleeping bum hogging up the double seats and his legs are on the triple seats in front of him.
Not much happened at all, am just typing what I saw which is what I see everyday going downtown in Manhattan.
Tis yet another day in N Y C.
