Halogen bulbs are not good for growing marijuana they put out a lot
of heat and have a shitty spectrum.
And in the space you are talking about you dont want some bulb blasting
out high amounts of heat. You should look into compact fluorescents (CFLs)

As said earlier, go for some CFL lights. Try to get some Cool White lights during veg. Soft white works ok but it doesn't produce as much blue spectrum as Cool White. Warm White lights are ideal for flowering but seem to be hard to get as of right now. You can use Cool White during flowering but the plants will never reach full potential.

damn yab.........those were the exact lights i was gonna get but i ended up getting some 1400 lumen for 5 dollars each. ill probably go back and buy those since they were 9 dollars. the thing is they were only 2k lumen. and said reading light as was like wtf. how many lumen would i need for two plants? i bought about 4 1400 lumen bulbs and 2 2000 lumen bulbs.

Those 42 watt CFL's actually put out 2700 lumens the package says
2000 but if you look up the model number it says its out put is 2700.
They are also sold under the name Megalite. But what you did buy
sounds fine to me.

I am using 3 42 watt CFLs on two plants in a grow box not much bigger than what you are talking about.

how many lumens per plant should there be? i started building the cabinet yesterday and hopefully i can finish it today after work and school. ill try and show pics. ohhh and ill try to get the 2700 lumen bulbs also. seems alot better than more bulbs. maybe 6 of those for the 2-4 plants should do.
