Ok, I need to make a thread about this because I want a discussion on it. Shelbay posted some info in a thread about marijuana smoke and posted this
If you must inhale smoke you can protect yourself by cutting the cancer risk from smoking.
Make sure to take plenty of vitamins C & E.
Research has been found that vitamin C supplements given to smokers boost the staying power of Vitamin E,allowing it to better protect lung cells from damage.
Smokers given 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C a day slows the depletion of vitamin E by 50%. In fact the study showed that smokers who took vitamin C
supplements had almost the same levels of antioxidant protection as NON-smokers.
Vitamin E is one of the lungs first lines of defense against cigarette smoke and prevents the destruction of lung membranes,BUT in the process vitamin E loses effectiveness unless HIGH levels of vitamin C protect it.
Ok, so your tellin me if I take 1,000 mg of Vitamin C I could reduce the chance of me gettin cancer in my lungs? Is this true or what cuz it seems like people would know about this and actually try it.

Marijuana does not cause cancer - but tobacco, as it is grown today, does. There is no hard evidence, that I am aware of, that shows vitamins reduces the risks.

The things that give you cancer are called free radicals. The antioxidants found in vC block the free radicals from damaging your cells.
So yeah, smoking and taking vC may leave you at the same risk for cancer as non smokers, but there are plenty of other problems that smoking leaves you with (sleep, cough, weakness, irritability, attitude...)

I smoked cigarettes for 17 years, and quit years ago. I was lucky, but it's a gamble that I shouldn't have taken. Don't smoke or chew tobacco, and you'll be better off. That we know is 100 percent true. They grow tobacco with radioactive element called polonium in the soil, and that's what is causing the cancer. If you don't want to die, then get scared - it's the smartest thing you can do.

"Lung cancer rates increased significantly during most of the 1900's (6). Its no coincidence that between 1938 and 1960, the level of polonium 210 in American tobacco tripled commensurate with the increased use of chemical fertilizers and Persistant Organic Pollutant (POP) accumulation(7)".

Well, you don't "need" cancer, emphysema, high blood pressure, and numerous other problems from tobacco. I know it's hard, but maybe just quit smoking everything for a while. It won't kill you, but tobacco can.
The tobacco companies don't give a flying fuck about you, or anybody else that they sell their poison to.

The other very unfortunate thing that cigarette smoking causes--and it's not as well publicized as the other conditions like cancer or heart disease or high blood pressure but it goes right along with poor vascular health--is erectile dysfunction. My husband is asked to prescribe Viagra or something like it at least twice a day by his patients. Smoking leads to problems in the bedroom for many, many men, and yet a huge number of them aren't aware that it can have that effect, too.

I think it is important to grow as organically as possible and to avoid chemical fertilizers,

When I was still smoking cigarettes, years ago, my wife (then girlfriend), wanted me to quit smoking. She used to gather various information about smoking and health to give me, and once showed me a health report with basically the same information contained in the above posting. I just asked her if she remembers how I reacted, but she only recalls that I "went nuts" on her. I didn't have an erectile dysfunction problem, but I soon quit tobacco anyway. I went to a doctor from China who used acupuncture . I don't know if this helped, but I never smoked tobacco again.
