yesterday i went to a hydroponic store just looked around. I am going to go back and ask about the different things like lights and everything. I think he will probebly ask me what kind of plants i am growing. any good ideas on a good plant to say? something close so he does not try to sell me something that is not good for my plants i am going to plant soon.

Well i would say peppers, tomato's, and maybe like some herbs. Just ask him what would be good for each one. Then whatever he says about tomaters use that info for weed. I work at a nursery and we recently started to carry hydro stuff lots of weed growers come in. You can always tell who grows weed because they say they are growing tomato's

I'd say you should learn what you need from this site before asking people at a hydro shop. I guarantee there's more information on these boards than their knowledge. I mean, think about it, it's a bunch of growers talking about growing.

yeah i've been reading these boards for over a month pimp. i know what i need to get, but you know it's inevitable. everyone has to ask and be nosey.

anytime I'm asking growing questions from an 'expert', or knowledgeable person at a nursery, I always tell them I'm growing cannabis ... that way, I get an accurate, informed answer ... those people are there to sell supplies, not gather information for LEO ... every nursery employee I've told so far, (young or old, made no difference), confided they, too, are MJ growers ... "paranoia will destroy ya" ... :smokin:

I didn't know I was pimp. I dunno though, you should watch out. The less you ask, the less you can get wrong. Not saying they'll turn you in, which they probably won't, but if you start asking about tomatoes you may end up with a shitload of stuff for growing tomatoes.

... obviously in a place where that kind of thing matters, you don't want to do that. Here, not so much. In this town, even the cops do it.

Do not do this! Saying your growing cannabis and then asking for help can get you and the nursery employee in trouble. Although the chances of getting in trouble are small, it is against the law to give tips to someone telling them how to grow.

Or maybe it isn't illegal, but the police will use it to scare people into blaming or ratting out another grower.

if you live in an area that isn't bud-friendly or are paranoid then take a taxi to the store. find yourself a bar or store a mile or so from the hydro store and call a cab to take you shopping. this way your car will not be in the parking lot where your license plate can be seen...and do not mention cannabis. it's the same deal as walking into a head shop and asking for a hash pipe or water pipe instead of just a pipe or bong.

paranoia..... look, everybody at "hydro hobby" knows me and why im there. i dont tell unless im asked first. just pay with cash and dont act like your "mr. stelth grower"..... and by that i mean dont make a spectical of yourself by tryin to act like youre on "the down low" (someone knows what i mean), just be normal and tell them what you need and buy it........

i mean think about it when you walk into a grow store and ask for a HPS light (which gives it away from the start), you will be asked "what are you growing". once you look at them blank-faced (tring to think of something)..... They will know and they WILL look at you like a retard for tryin to hide it

tell them you are growing a Chinese Red Bamboo, one of my mates grows that in his back garden, he used some of his leftover ganja fertiliser and it almost doubled in height.

In other words they are the closest thing to weed.

Plus they are fuckin valuable so a $175 light will look like nothing compared to the price of the plant.
