Hey all,
I topped my plant 3 days ago. i know it stresses the plant, but is it normal for the leaves to droop. my other plants aren't doing so.
Anyway, she was looking kinda' deppressed so I put some 'Thrive Alive B1' in the reservoir just now. Would this help it at all?
She's the one in the middle

Add 3 weeks to your veg cycle to make up for the cropping shock. Watch the Ph and the thrive alive is only for root growth. B-1 as a foil spray helps shock from cutting and trimming.

topping usually doesnt stress a plant enough to die. sounds like there is something else going on.

YEAH, I THOUGHT SO TO. BUT I CHECKED EVERYTHING ELSE I COULD THINK OF. THE PH LEVEL IN THE WATER, TEMPS. EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. SHE WAS ACTUALLY IN THE BEST CONDITION OUT OF THE THREE.
BUT FROM THE SECOND I TOPPED SHE STARTING WILTING.

Not usual but it sure can. Stress can kill any plant.
Sorry Green I feel for you loss :(

Naw, don't be scared of topping. I've never had a plant die from topping. Slow them down, absolutely. I know they *can* die, but if they're healthy before topping, and the environment is suitable, it's unusual, unless the genetics were shitty to begin with.

Some plants don't react well to topping. I have had mutated plants happen from topping, but I have never heard of a plant dying from topping. Did you do a hack job or more than one cut?
Topping a plant should be used with very sharp snips, in one, quick cut. If you used dull snips or hacked it up, you may sent it into a death shock or something, but I have never heard of a plant dying from getting topped.
Bummer man.

No hack job, just one cut. the scizzors might have been dull though.
now, i'm supposed to be topping the OG Kush plant i have and i'm scared to death the same thing will happen, but if i don't it'll reach the light within a matter of days.
i'm gonna search the forums for threads with diagrams & step by step instructions.

Why don't you just tie them down instead of topping them?

yeah GREENvision
if your scared of topping your plants maybe you should do as UnitedParcelSecrets suggested and tie them down look in the forums for lst
this is a great method you end up with almost the same reaction as topping minus the stress and slowing of growth its great in my opinion.
oh yeah sorry to read about your lose :(

why don't you just LST it once and let her grow some more. if you that scare that is. that way you don't cause much stress but still get the hight down.
just a thought
