I live in Texas and I didn't know that smoking pot would have this consequence!!!!! I smoke mostly for sleep as I have insomnia hard core. I had been taking Oxycontin 80mg for 7 years or so and this pain guy just dropped me when I showed positive for pot! Of course he pulled out the original contract and it DID indicate no illegal drugs were permitted. I missed a couple of appts. recently-rescheduled them but I think that was a contributing factor as well. I'm not sure though. He did write me one last month to hopefully give me time to find another Dr. based on past experience it will be next to impossible.

We had even talked about it and that he used to smoke himself! Do I have any recourse?? Does anyone know what if any options I would have? I seriously doubt getting picked up by another Pain Management Specialist...I'll have to tell him why this other guy isn't seeing me anymore and will have to be honest and hope I can find a Pain Dr. with a bit of compassion. I mean hell..otherwise I will die. I tolerated the Oxycontin just fine and it saved my life. Geeze Louise..I take a few tokes in my own home to assist with sleep and get bounced out. Crap!!!!!!!!!!

I have had two back surgeries with hardware/Intractable headaches and also have Cervical Spondylosis. Is there anyone here with experience with Chronic Pain or know someone who is or has been through it and may have some suggestions or any input would be helpful. ANY INPUT WILL HELP ME!

Thanks guys and gals!
