"Frozen" bud

So last night me and my new smoking buddies picked up an 1/8 of some "frozen" bud. The guy we bought it off usually has dank shit, and said it's been in his freezer for over 2 years. We paid $40 for it but my friends were pretty sketched out about it at first, like wtf is frozen bud? I told them I read around somewhere about freezing bud and that it'll probably still be dank.

Well we got it, looked pretty good, no stems or seeds so I was pleased. It was hard as a rock though. We smoked it and still got pretty baked (I already had a fat blunt before that though so I don't know).

So, anyone know anything about freezing bud? Does it retain its potency and stuff after 2 years of being frozen?

Ive also heard this, something like freezing it makes the trichomes really hard so that when u are handling it the trichs dont fall off or somethen.

freezing makes weed last a long ass time

2 years is longer than i think it could last.. if it didn't have any mold on it and got your sober buddies baked out, then youre all set i guess

someone also said on these boards that freezing it breaks down the trichromes but i really dont understand that and im pretty skeptical about that theory

I've heard people sometimes put it in the freezer so the trichromes will get harder and come off easier when you make hash using the screen method.

I've found bud in my dresser drawer that was at least 3 or 4 years old. It was dry as hell but I still got baked as hell.

I dont think it loses it's potency if you ask me.

As long as the buds were fully wrapped or fully sealed in a container, then frozen buds shouldn't be a problem. It's when the buds get ice on them and get freezer burn, is when the trichs break down and the buds get like soggy lettuce.

And yes, people freeze their buds or trimmings to make hash and shake the kif off. I do it all the time. It loosens the trichs up and they fall of much easier.

But hey, if the weed got you stoned, that's all that matters.

sometimes people freeze their bud and it makes it turn purple and tell people that really dont know much that is like a really good strain or purple haze or someting, but since you got and eighth for 40 dollars you didnt really get ripped off..just watch out for that trick if someone trys to sell you purple weed.
