Mold on Bud

My room mate was keeping some freshly picked bud (within 2 weeks) in a pill bottle to let it cure some more, as recommended by the guy he bought it from. He opened the bottle 2-3 times a day to give it some fresh air. He opened the bottle today to show me, and there was mold on 75% of a 3inch nug. Is there anything we can do with it? Is it still smokable? If we continue to let it dry will it get better? Any suggestions woudl be great.

I'd throw it all away and consider it a loss. Too much risk.

Be carefull where and how you store it. I use tupperware in a dark dry place.

A fresh picked bud? In a container? That's your first problem. You don't out wet weed in a dark place in an almost airtight container. That is a recipe to create mold. Buds MUST be 90% dry before putting them into any kind of container with a lid, or mold will form.

I'd suggest making oil from it, as the Alcohol will kill the mold on contact, but it's only 3 grams. You'll be lucky to get .5gram of oil from it.

Toss it, and learn from this mistake so you don't do it again.
