Rolling a joint?

Ok, so i bought papers today (Orange zig-zag slow burning) and i am pretty much clueless on how to roll a J. Does anyone have any really good information or any informative sites on how to roll a good J? I would really like to get this method down because J's are the most portable method for me and aren't as obvious for smoking weed in public. Can anyone help a fellow toker out? Practice makes perfect my freind. Get a little pile of finely cut weed and put in the folded paper with the sticky part you lick facing you, sticky side up. Then roll the bottom of the pape over the weed and under the part you just licked, roll it tightly, and seal it.

If you fuck it up dump it out and start with a new paper. Havent you ever seen guys roll cigs on the street or in movies or something...

If you really want to smoke in public, the best way is to empty a cigarette like a camel wide and fill it in with a lot of pot and some tobacco. It may be gross to you, and not the best etiquette, and the filter will strain some of the THC out, but it works. I smoked a Wide durinq the intermission of Avenue Q in NY in the middle of the street, and the only ones that were the wiser were the ones that knew me. It's worth a try my friend.

(Any European will probably diss me for this, but hey, we were in a hotel room with no fans and sealed windows.. Only option man, only option.)

I learned when I was 11. Not with weed, but with tobbacco, and I didn't even smoke. I just wanted to be like the older kids...able to roll, you know, just in case, lol!.

Some people use dollar bills to help them, but its kind of discusting if you think about it.

Just practice, man! It took me a long time before I was able to roll a decent joint...er ciggarette.

It took be ages to get rolling joints, I am a clumsy bastard though! Just roll it between your thumb and finger till the weed is tight then roll it up. The hard part is beginning the roll towards the sticky stuff as it can go loose at this point. You can usually salvage a half decently rolled joint by firming it up with a pen or something though.

i roll a pretty nice joint for wednesday mornings before school. i will tear off a part of a buisness card and make a mouthpiece that is round and goes half way up the joint (i don't need a fatty). get the wide papers when u are learning. when i first started i was bored and didn't want to waste weed so i rolled joints out of some bread crumbs i found in the pantry. it gives you something to do plus u wont fuck up with the good stuff

•lay it flat in front of you with the sticky side faced away from you
•break up the weed very finely and remove any stems, and put the broken up weed evenly along the crease of the joint. have it a bit thicker in the middle
•holding it using your thumbs and pointer fingers, lift the end closest to you over the weed, and roll it up and down till it shapes up a bit
then tuck it around the weed and roll upwards tightly,
•at the end, lick the sticky part and fold that over the paper.

few tips of advice

1. don't be afraid to use more weed in rolling a joint. when i first tried rolling j's i didn't put nearly enough weed in them and my joints would come out looking like shit and smoking just as bad.
2. you want your j's to be tight and firm.
3. you can easily tell if a joint will smoke well without even lighting it by putting it in your lips and inhaling. if the paper makes a crackling noise, like when you roll it, then that means there is sufficient air flow for the joint. air flow is crucial

Thanks guys! That one video of the guy rolling different cigarettes in different papers was helpful. I'll def. have to try it again here and see if i can make a good joint! :thumbsup:

If you get frustrated and need a break, just cheat a little. Find a smooth round ink pen or something similar and wrap the paper around the pen, lick it, seal it, and then pull the paper a little more than halfway off the pen and start filling it with weed continue this until you've got enough weed and then twist the ends up.

Like someone else said, practice makes perfect. If you don't mind wasting papers. just keep rolling till you get the hang of it. If you fuck it up, dump it out and start over. :stoned:

Also, I found that keepin' a bic pencil around is always handy because it let's you compact the weed down after you shake down both ends. I also usually twist both ends and pinch, and repeat until it's nice and tite. It's how I developed my own style and works pretty well, always sure to impress people with muh joint rollin' skiiiiillllz.
