Earlier in the day I received a 72 hour ban. I suspect that it was done by bobbong.
I did not receive any warning prior to being banned. I was in the process of submitting a reply within http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=78673 and found that the thread had been locked.
Upon submitting a new thread entitled 'So moderators are never mistaken and not to be questioned?' I found that it had been deleted immediately. As if someone was monitoring the forum for anything presented by me.
At that point, I attempted to make a post elsewhere and ran into the following message...
[attachment=o82377]
I'm of the opinion that nothing in my posts in the previously listed thread were childish. And most certainly at no time was I being disrespectful. Was I questioning the things being done and said by bob...yes.
I did not violate any rule within the posting guidelines. As well as according to the user agreement, it is the owner whom reserves being able to remove and or delete any thread sought fit for such action.
If bob is an owner, I'll accept the censorship that was meted toward me. If he isn't, I submit that he is abusing his status as a moderator, allowing personal frustrations with fellow members to interfere with appropriate and fair moderating.
I've no ax to grind with bob, nor do I wish to see someone whom obviously makes many positive contributions to the forums be removed from the moderating team.
However, if he is unable to police his own actions, as well as not be reprimanded by other moderators...I ask that something be posted on the posting guidelines page stating just how much carte blanch individual moderators possess. Twice today he and Psycho4bud made clear statements that suggest they can make up rules as they go.
I understand that moderators are people and members too. As such, they clearly have every right to express themselves in any discussion or debate. But becoming annoyed, frustrated and or delivering ultimatums as Psycho4bud routinely does, are things that are outside the lines of accepted and appropriate behavior for a moderator.
I suggest that, should any one member of the moderating team begin to see red...no matter the air of the exchange, they should pass upon the urge to ban an individual and instead, see if another moderator might step in and actually moderate, mediate, and or arbitrate the discussion between the separate parties sans favouritism.
In closing, consider this thread an appeal for the ban I received to be lifted, and that it remain open, unlocked, and not be deleted.
Respectfully,
slowthestone
