Really! - I've never known a movie to be directed by a fruit!
lol
I know, I AM very silly lol
Actually, whilst I am in a silly mood - what was the OLD Zealand, like Kiwi?
hehehehe :p ok, I've finished being silly now.....
..or have I?....
Yep, Mars Attacks was one of those movies that I was FORCED to watch, but found it to be quite funny - much to my chagrin lol
And LOTR is just superb, but I haven't yet seen the final film.
I read the books when I was 8 - took me 2 weeks to read them all - but I was hooked on the genre from then on.
Has anyone read Raymond E Fiest's 'Riftworld sagas'?

#1) The Toxic Avenger(BEST MOVIE EVER!!! TRUST ME, YOU'LL LOVE IT!)
#2) Natural Born Killers
#3) Clockwork Orange
#4) The Shining (Kubricks version)
#5) U-Turn(most underrated movie ever)
#6) The Doors

#8) LOTR(I'm going to have to group them for the sake of simplicity)
#9) Goodfellows
#10) The Crow, Dark City, Full Metal Jacket, American Beauty, American History X, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill(once again, I'll just group), Jackie Brown, Formula 51(2nd most underrated movie ever), Requime for a Dream(probably the most well done movie I've ever seen), Scarface, True Romance, Crash(check this movie out, it is the definition of a twisted movie), Braveheart... ok, I could go on for ages, so I'm just going to stop there)

Oh and by the way, I think Fight Club was a trash movie with shotty writing, directing and cinematography. I've never been able to fully understand the popularity this movie has received. It somehow has reached that cult status where people just talk it up. I've even caught some dumbass trying to talk it up but had only saw it once and when I asked a few simple questions trying to get him to explain his case and he didn't have no idea why he liked it other than that was what he was supposed to say. It is not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination.
Please, I'm not trying to insult anyone's taste, just looking for a bit of a fight;)

Well just in case some of you are trying to get ideas on what other good movies to watch, [(stoner tastes are mostly similar but with slight differances- example, some like the 2nd and 3rd Matrix's. I however hated them, and this one is about 50% each way) I know I have, like Shallow Grave or Blue Velvet. I hadn't heard of them before now but I'll defenitly check them out now as I never know what to get, lol.] here are some more of one's I'd recommend checking out. Untouchables, Kiss of Death, Wyatt Earp, Apocolypse Now(most've seen it, just for the few that haven't cause they gotta) Amelie, Rapa Nui, Crash(I Know I said it before, but it's a must see for this that like movies that obviouslly came from a warped mind), Bloodsport(same situation here as Apocolypse Now), and my latest good review - Hidalgo.
And it's not just some dumb horse movie, it was a really good movie. Plain and simply well done. If you missed it when it was in the theater, I highly recommend you watch it on a big screen TV if possible to realize how good this movie was. It was a powerful piece that used all the old cliche tricks to grab people's attention, and they did it with such presicion, they all worked perfectly.

Yeah, I love that film! David Bowie looks major freaky with that outfit though, I mean, you can see things you shouldn't be able to see............
I like the bit with all the stairs going in mad directions and Bowie walking upside down on them, real trippy! :stoned:

And I picked The Shinning as my #3 all time movie;)
There are 2 versions of the film Lolita - I'm referring to the Adrian Lyne version with Dominique Swain, Jeremy Irons & Melanie Griffith. Not seen the other, older version but no film can top the book, I've read it countless times and never get bored of it - its a masterpiece!!

Well you really should check out the 1962 "Lolita"! It??s a masterpiece!!
But often Kubrick's movies are way off from the books. For example "2001", and "The Shinning". Stephen King hated Kubrick??s version of The Shinning even though it is also one of the greatest movies of all time. Stephen King, years later, made his own "made for TV" version of "The Shinning" with that guy from ??Wings? that was really, reallly bad... lol
I have never been a Stephen King fan but Kubrick??s ??The Shinning? is one of the best all time movies.

I've seen it. It's quite good, but the accents are too broad, makes me cringe! I went to college where it was filmed (Greenock)
