ok im pretty broke and live in alaska not to many good plant shops around here so i decided i go with the cfl's thinking hell if i can get 2 plants in veg and 2 in flower all the time and keep them under 18" if i could produce an ounce or two every month or two hell that would be tight (its $400 an ounce here) so i went to freddys and found the biggest mf cfls they had 45watts 2900 lumens got 5 (broke 1 testing it out) got plug ins the whole 9 (forgot odor controll and ill REALLY need it any cheap suggestions?) well i got to thinking about the lights cool white or warm white? i looked and they are soft white so now im twitching out about if they will work or not? PLZ help me out here did i f*** up royally?...

hi babe when i first started growing i couldnt afford carbon filters as theyre too expensive so i grew strains that were not so pungent northern lights is a good one i also masked the smell with lots of potchuli incense and oil all around my home

I believe you can use Soft white thgrough the whole process although its not the ideal light for Vegging It will still give you some buds.
Cool light for Veg 6500k and warm for flowering 2100-2500k

Where are you an AK? I am in Anchorage. Go to Wally Mart or Low's for the CFL's. There is also a grow shop called Far North Garden supply, 333-3141. They have ashop in the vally as well.

you want a higher k for veg growth. like a 6000k. thats my understanding with CFLs, but I could be wrong. 3000 is better for flowering?
far as smell... http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=59316
Read the FAQ, there is plenty to learn there.

6000K to 6500k cool spectrum and some times called warm spring are right on for veg and 2500K to 3000K are good for flower, these are also known as warm spectrom.
The soft specs are pretty poor compared to the other two options. If anything go with the warm specs the whole way if you have no choice.

a cheap way for odor control is a febreeze auto release thing..But instead of usething thier formula add a small bit of shampoo, some fruit extract ( depending on what you want) i like blueberrys and water...dosnt harm the plant as far as i know and will leave the area fresh smelling like blueberrys..
