I have lots of baby jumping spiders in my grow cubbyhole..They dont mess with my plant itself and seem to like the soil..i see one or 2 every time i check on my plant jumping around the soil in the pot..Should i worry about the spiders? or will they help me make sure no other insects invade my babys?..I didnt think jumping spiders whould cause any damage but i just wanna be sure..:stoned:

A large diverse genus of medium-sized salticids, primarily ground-dwellers and with highly ornamented males that perform complex courtship displays.
Approximately 100 species are known, most from North America, the remainder in the neotropics

The elbowed tegular apophysis ("conductor") of the palp is distinctive. The third leg is much longer than the fourth, distinguishing these from other superficially similar genera such as Sitticus. The epigynum has a triangular or tubular guide

Most are ground-dwelling on open ground with sparse vegetation, especially on rocks, dry leaf litter and sand. The arid southwest has many species, but Florida also has many species, and others are known above the Arctic circle and east to maritime Canada.

They are tiny spiders..if you see one catch it and look at it..if your in american they should look like the pic i posted.. But from what i know they should be harmless to plants..and dont spin webs..and do a well job of keeping away spider mites...

Use some screen that will keep the buggers out altho if they´re not harmfull there´s no point in that appart from having some bugs around the plants
