I don't think that there's a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

If you picked "d" for question number one, it's wrong. Sirhan Sirhan, the assassin of Bobby Kennedy, was not a Muslim. He had several religous affiliations, but not Islam.

Lol, that's pretty good.

Personally, I don't like the idea of profiling, but...what can I say, I see a Muslim dude aged 17-40, wearing concealing clothing, and my tendency is going to be to keep my distance. Like 100 yards or more. Just in case. A sad state of affairs, but that's life.

The operative word there is 'extremist' but until we figure out how to profile just that, I'm afraid the rest of you Muslim Males are gonna have to walk for a while....sorry about that. Whitey's feelin' a little tense right now. I'm sure you can understand.

Racial profiling won't gaurantee success. Israel does a pretty decent job at their airports and their screeners are highly proficient in observational and interviewing skills... I'm not sure but I suspect they compensate their folks more than what the TSA pays the front line jobs for the Department of Homeland Security...

Not that I'm for racial profiling but don't ya think GM that it would be tougher in Israel since everyone is pretty much 'Middleeastern'? ...and the ratio of probable terrorists is a thousand to one?

Not all... and they've intercepted more than a few "non arab" threats. The Murphy chick comes to mind... she was carrying a bomb from her PLO boyfriend and didn't even know it.

LOL BA...........

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot all about my recent real-life incident of asking for six "C" Duracell batteries in a Chinese-owned electronics store in Brooklyn, and finding "D"-sized ones in the bag when I got home. The guy exchanged them for me the next day.

Spike Lee also made a movie called "Crooklyn", but I haven't see it.

I'm probably going to move eventually, and I'll miss this damn city.

Where will you move if you do leave the city, Breuk?

Probably another city - but smaller. Maybe in Virginia, or a similar place that's good to retire in - without extreme temperatures. We've got to start looking lest we wait too long. Any suggestions?

I think Virginia is beautiful. But if I lived in the northeast, I might also consider Vermont. Feels like the sort of place that'd be tolerant and open-minded and pretty, too. Assuming you like snowy winters.

I like the idea of retiring in the Pacific northwest. When I get through with med school in four years, we're going to look seriously at moving up there for me to do internship/residency (assuming I make it that far). I gotta get away from the Texas heat/drought and Bible-thumping conservatism.

That's what I meant - Vermont (not thinking tonight). I think we're on the same page about the heat/drought/Bible-thumping conservatism also.

I could take a little snow, as long as we're not too isolated.

BA, then consider Burlington, Vermont. It's got everything but you'd need to take up a winter activity... Summer and fall more than make up for it.

BTW You're allowed to hunt bible thumpers in Vermont, no limits

I wonder if they would stop being terrorists if we stop sticking our toes in their shit. I mean Iran has every right to hate us being in the 50's we took out their democraticaly elected leader and put in a warlord who terrorise the shit out of his people becuase we wanted our oil that happened to be in their country.
