I had a friend who made hash after each harvest, he said he simply rolled reefer dust in his hands to remove gum from harvest- it tasted just like the hash I smoked in the 60's- is this really what he did

Yeah, that's known as finger hash, or hand hash. Not the best method for making hash. :p

debatable, best hash i ever had was napalese finger hash, and ive smoked
alot of hash in 35 years.
