Fan installation?

I built a small grow box but completely forgot about venting. I was considering just using a desk fan and leaving a door open but that'd probably screw the flowering phase, in a couple months. From reading and replies, I gather putting in a computer fan is my best bet. My question lies in powering the sucker. I have a bunch of power transformers I've gathered over the years, but all the fan advertisements say 3 or 4 pin. I don't know if I could wire one up right. Is there an easy way? Any suggestions?

PC fans are very easy to install this is how you do it

there are on most fans 3 wires black red and yellow that is the 3 pin they are talking about, get a DC adapter 12v atleast 100ma i use one that is 1000ma which is enough power to run 5 computer fans at once.

splice the red and black wires from the fan and do the same to the adaptor and wire up positive to negative if its wrong the fan simply spins the other direction no damage done there is normally a arrow pointing the way the air should flow.

to cut the hole id reccommend using a jigsaw

Sounds like you really know what you're taking about invision. What I'm tkinking is drilling like three or four big ole holes(1/2' diam. or so) on a side wall, bottom front, and then putting the fan at the top back wall, opposite side from the holes, blowing out. Sort of pulling through fresh air. Remember this is a small box. What do you think?

good rule is intake is always at the bottom and outtake from the top heat rises quickly you want that heat out first.

i use a small box myself 32x16x16 and can squeeze 2 plants in there growing using the LST method otherwise the plants would quickly outgrow my space.

i have a single intake and outtake and my temps stay about 80-85 a little warmer than most people like but not a problem for me they grow insanely fast once past that 2 week stage.

for you id make 2 hole up the very top on opposite sides same with the bottom that way air travels through the entire cab

I'm gonna LST too but I'm thinking I'll clone a girl and try ScrOG. Have you ever tried a ScrOG? By the way I already hooked up the fan. It's cool.

nope ill admit it this is my 1st grow myself but i read this forum and other for almost a year strait daily before i tired and of course i still have mistakes but my plants are gettting huge just one more week till i flower them.

whats in your box?

i have a 150watt hps in mine with a glass heat shield this works out wonders for heat never rises above 88 in there i lined it with mylar ill have to take another pic tonight for you but here one from about 2 week ago when i was having a MG problem

its all sorted out and getting alot better like i said we all mess up i know next time to have everything i need when i start.

I put four 42W cfls, total of 10,800 lumens in for now. I've read how the hps are better for flowering so maybe I'll go for that someday.

i got my hps for 30.00 i had to wire it myself but man i couldnt imagine the light intensity of 1000watts the 150 kills my eyes somedays.
