I buy scripto's,there is no tab,but if there was one i wud destroy it or the lighter...

I buy Bic's, and no, I don't tear the safety thing off. If it were like a little switch you have to press down to light, then yeah, I'd bust that off in a second, but if it's just the little silver tab over top of the flicker, then no. I mean, how hard is it to light one of those. ;) j/k

I have broken brand new lighters trying to take the safety shit off. That always sucks!

I hate the little child-proof tabs on a bic. The first thing I do when I get a lighter is take that damn thing off.

I never get a lighter that has 'em. I only seem to buy bic lighters by the pack and they never have 'em.

I always take them off, they bother me and its much easier using a lighter without one lighting bowls when your drunk

I take the keys to my bic all the time to remove those fucking safetys. I hate roasting a bowl with one... it really kills my mood if I have to try to smoke.

When I was a kid, the parents didn't let their kids play with lighters. :D

But the ones we played with anyways were far more dangerous.:thumbsup: Get some wind and that Zippo turned into a flame thrower!:dance:

And I won't even mention that burn when you overfill it and stick it in your pocket:eek:

flint and butane. i have a zippo (flint and lighter fluid). the electric and butane ones would be better then bics which i use if they didn't have those horrible things that you can't get out.

I never bother with the safety locks anymore. I can pull them off for people in a second with a needle nose pliers, but I usually lose lighters within 48 hours of buying them anyways.

good thread, i always bust them off cause its just easier, i use a knife or fork or what ever's handy

ive never ruined a lighter doing it its a just a little strip of metal that keeps your finger from spinning the wheel that strikes the flint, unless you push it down, you can just pry it out

i feel the need to always pull the safety off even if its not my lighter. its just so annoying and im just so ocd that i gotta pull that off!
