Hey, nice to see this new forum.
I wanted to post one of my favorite things to do in my spare time other than work in the garden... :D

A couple weekends ago my friends and I took a kickass canoe-camping trip on the Deerfield river in western Massachusetts. I met some really awesome people on the river, with some very pleasant smoke, and even set up a seed/clone exchange with them! What a nice bonus!!

We want to plan a couple more voyages before the weather turns cold.

So who has a favorite spot to share, or some pics to post from trips this summer?

Winters the best time for camping down under. Last winter I took a 14 night camping trip, camping in isolated spots around my state,Queensland. I like camping on the outback plains and I've found about 100 spots where I can camp free of fees, usually near water,a dam, weir or river.

The only camping I did was at a festival back in early June.

Four days of pure excitement.

We knew the trip started off just right when one of my buddies picked up a 10 strip while waiting to get into the festival grounds, so as soon as we parked our car, we all dropped out. In retrospect, probably not the best idea since we hadn't set up our tents or anything yet, but somehow we managed.

After the 2nd day, our tarp that everyone was sitting under to hide from the blistering sun just collapsed on us, so we had to create a make-shift one using our cars as the poles. It was pretty ghetto, but it did the trick.

By the end of those 4 days, most of us had plenty of chiggers and little-to-no-water to call our own, but it was still amazing. The music that weekend was almost enlightening, I swear. Seeing Buckethead and Les Claypool within 50 feet of us was all I needed.

Thank you for reading. ~

Not this summer, but last summer I rode my Mt Bike from Boston Ma.To ElDorado Ks. With all the side trips it took 9 1/2 weeks and coverd almost 1800 miles! Amazing! Now all I have to do is ride from ElDorado Kansas. to Florence Oregon and I will have ridden across the US!
This is a pic of the Katy Rail to Trail in Mo,it follows the Misiorri River along the old MKT rail line. The Erie Canal Trail in upstate New York Kicks ass too!

I went camping on the east coast, it was a bad experience dude. First of all, i was with my two buddies, and we were making this dumbass documentary about some witch. We got lost, my friend died, and i barely managed to escape. I have proof, i think they made a movie about my experience actually...

theres this place in CA thats called Culp Valley.
its a crater looking area with many huge rocks scattered within the bowl shaped terrain. one friday night at approximately 11 pm my buddy and I went on a drive over there with the intent to camp. we found a cool little cave to camp in, laid out our sleeping bags, made a fire to scare away unwanted animalae visitors, climbed on top of the rock of our cave and smoked a blunt, comtemplated the stars, etc. came back down, ate some steak on the fire, then went to bed. we spent the following day smoking bowls and rock climbing the boulders in the area. heres some pics

Went cabrewing (canoeing + beer) 3 miles up the ohio river and had a grill out in this park on an island dubbed 12 mile island around louisville. Got wasted and had a good time. Funny thing bout the trip was we forgot the buns for the burgers, but considering how drunk we where we just asked a bunch of random river goers and got hooked up with a loaf of bread.

Another trip involved camping in some local woods along harrods creek, was a good time.

As for next summer, my christmas list involves a lot of camping gear, so i think imma hit the big times, and go on a three day hike through red river gorge.

I have only camped a few times in the last couple of years. It has mostly been at the beach with fires roaring. Not a true roughin it type camping. But camping nonetheless.
I plan on doing a 3 day backpack/camp trip this summer.

my buds and i have been going to a rally race around wellsboro PA. for those of you who that means nothing too, my buddy has a camp in the middle of the damn woods, and i mean remote. great country, the race is held on logging roads that are quite well maintained. we always go out there with kegs, weed, and fishing poles. theres a great trout stream that runs through his camp. we go out there for a weekend of getting wrecked and watching the race and doing some fishing. its a great damn time! sitting around the fire drinking booze and smoking weed all night, then stumbling up to the road to watch the cars zoom by.

I live in Florida and I just went on my first camping trip with three freinds this past winter. We went up to Ocala National Forest in Central Florida. We had a blast, took wayy too much bud and not enough water lol. We had 4 ounces of brickweed and 1 ounce of sensi for 6 days. Can't wait for it to get cold again!

Just got back from a week of bivoaucing in northern Wisconsin. Went alone could have been better with other people but my current surcumstances limit me. But Its also nice getting out in the woods alone and roughing it. I like comerical camping and got the comercial stuff also but I love survival camping. Getting out and exploring with limited gear, living outta a backpack for a week in the outdoors-nothing like it(cant get enouf). I have too systems I like I have my comercial small tent and all that stuff and I have my ever treasured mil surplus gear. When you wanna expierence nature on a budget you can camp for under 100 bucks.
