I was reading a post and saw someone's sig. I think it was Jake somethin but it had right in two from tool. I like that song a lot and I think its the most under-rated songs on that cd. Just wondering who else listens to tool?
I listen to Down. all hail Down.

Never ever ever say tool sucks if you follow that with fall out boy is real music. I could see if you liked fall out boy before they became popular but they are the biggest sell outs I have ever seen. For the samples go to toolshed.down.net (it's a fan site). I'll have to check out down and ya the lyrics to right in two are great.

Wow simple plan are you fucking kidding me? Tool has some of the best musicianship around. Danny Carey is probably the best drummer I have ever heard, Adadm Jones continues to push the envelope with the sounds he makes with the guitar, and Justin Chancelor is a great bassist (listen to the pot). That's not even mentioning Maynard James Keenan who has one of the greatest voices I have ever heard. Simple Plan; PLEASE!!!

Change the lyrics to the song opiate. It's old but the lyrics are so straightforward. But if I would guess; Vicarious, Rosetta Stoned, or 10K days (if it's from the new cd).

i heard that theyve played opiate at every show since they wrote it... is that true?

My best friend's dad smoked with Maynard a long time ago.

No that's not true, it seems at least to me that Opiate and Undertow existed simply to get them enough reconigition to take their music where they really wanted to go (Aenima and beyond). Though they were good, their last three albums have really seemed quite different than the first two. At any rate, Tool is the one of the few bands that writes/plays real music anymore...can't wait to see em in September.
My favorite song off of 10K is Wings pt. 2.
Any thoughts on his aim with "The Pot"?

I don't really have a favorite song from tool because its so hard to choose one specifically. Tool's music is transcendental and an incredible stimuli for our conscious and unconscious. 10,000 days is a work of art, its the product of the experience and light that they have collected since opiate.

"Think for yourself. Question authority. Throughout human history as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are or where we are going in this ocean of chance, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself."

c'mon people 10k days is a good album but remember your Roots

I am such a fan of Tool. With every album they grow to new heights, and they keep getting better and better. I don't care about how long it takes for them to release an album, I'll wait 4 years for a great album over waiting a year for a piece of shit. Adam Jones is a genious on the guitar, and Danny Carey is just a machine on the drums. there really isn't enough that can be said about Tool, they are incredible.
P.S: the song in Jake's profile is now Lateralus, lol.
P.P.S: Adam Jones used to do special effects in movies. He worked on Jurassic Park and Terminator 2. Just some facts probably not a lot of you guys knew.

Tool is an amazing band. They are aleins when it comes to playing music. Their new album is SO off beat and is filled with irregular beats. VERY difficult to play if you're trying to learn. If you're a musician, you'll understand wehre I'm coming from. ;)
Right in Two is one of my fav. songs on that record. I really enjoy Wings for Marie (pt.2). Listen to that song ripped. It has such a huge buildup that it just explodes and blows up. It starts off slow, low, momo-tone voice, then it increasingly gets louder, voices become louder, drums kick in louder, then 5min into the song it starts getting heavier, his voice is getting stronger, then, WHAM! It's a full on rocking out song.
Yeah, I love that CD, LOVE IT!

I disagree with the statement that says opiate and undertow were just a gateway to aenima and so on. I believe undertow and opiate have to do something with Paul D Amour. I heard a rumor that Justin Chancellor writes a lot of their music. But you have to appreciate every cd for what it is. Undertow and Opiate lean towards a alternative metal album where as the rest of them are pretty progressive.
P.S. I'm going to see tool Sep,26 at the Peterson Event Center in Pittsburgh. It's going to be SWEEEET!!!

Tool is great, but their fans take them too seriously.
I'm not really in love with their new CD, but its not bad.
Anyone here go to Warped this summer?

Plain and simple......
Tool kicks serious ass man. You'll never hear a band like that my friends. Bands like that only come around a few times in your lifetime.
I love the new CD, and Perfect Circle gives us just enough to keep us from not "Jonesing" so much waiting for another Tool CD.
I think the contract calls for one more Perfect Circle CD. It'll be interesting to see what they do next. I'm a huge fan. They are all simply great musicians but is that fucking drummer sick or what? Simply amazing. He plays like nobody I have ever heard.

Smart people like to be recognized for being smart.
I wasn't suggesting that people who dont like Tool are stupid.
Besides that I was wrong to say what I said because, lots of people who like Tool arent smart.
Sorry, I was sober when I wrote that.

I was watching a Tool interview on TV the other day and the interviewer said that their new artwork inside their new CD, is dubbed as "the best stoner artwork." He then went on to say he doesn't even smoke pot.
Not a big deal, but so suprising. I was so sure these guys smoked to write their music. Now that they don't, their creative talent just shines more so.

Smart people like to be recognized for being smart.
truly intelligent people understand that in the long run, they really know nothing.
if you actually believe what you wrote there, it sounds like you're just a narcisstic pseudointellectual who wants people to think that you're superior because you think you're smart. when in actuality we are all pretty stupid.

I still have yet to figure out how Maynard manages to be so sexy:

YES! Tool is my favortie band. Rosetta Stoned is real trippy if you listen to it word for word. And I love how each song cept for those real short ones that are just filler, all have something to say. Schism is a fuckin sweet song 2.
