I had a sort of idea that maybe the reason we dont understand God is that he just planted something, a seed, thousands of years ago and let it grow. Maybe he didn't have quite as much to do with the way things came out.
I have a friend who goes to church and reads the bible alot and she says that strictly speaking in the bible the Earth was already there, it was void, but it was there, and then God put stuff on it. So maybe he just sneezed at it or something and everything evolved from there.
Basicly, maybe we dont get God, because we're so far evolved from what he intended, that he doesn't get us.
Just a thaught.

not true, there is nowhere in the bible where it says the earth was void and allways was there, however in the bible it says he created the earth and the universe he unrolled like scrolls, and he created the sun and the moon...

ok if you have religion than all those answers are very nice. I shouldn't have mentioned the bible in the first place since I dont.

I can't wait until this shit is outlawed and we can all look back on it like some fucking joke, because the fact this ^^^ would be the serious thought of an otherwise rational, intelligent, i'm assuming you are, person. Really, get a grip man. Religion is its own cause and effect.

the question isn't how we got here. The question is "am I having fun?"

maybe we dont get ourselves because we are so far from the truth.
what is fashion, other than a way that humans segregate themselves?
what is money, other than something we choose to think will lead to happiness?
what is a house, other than somewhere we think we belong?
what is adultery, other than something that people think is ok?
what is theft, other than something that thieves think will make them happy?
what is murder, other than a way to make your "self" win?
there is nothing good about any of these terms because there is always something bad. you cannot define good as something that is good sometimes. it must be completely void of anything bad. love.
cheers

whats unintelligent or irrational about wondering if God intended for things to be as they currently are when he started?
And another thing! Why is it that any time a person brings up "God" people only answer with quotes and shit from the bible? My thaught was completely disraguarding the bible. The bible WAS NOT THERE in the beginning.

yup I'm having lots of fun. But I figured I'd take some time and have fun discussing the creation of all things in the SPIRITUALITY forum.
Fun all around!:rasta:

Or perhaps some agricultural tribes of the ancient Middle East didn't really understand how everything got here so, understandably, they made up a story that made sense to them.

Hi
Hey when you read the english translation of the bible its important to go back and study the original words. you can do this by reading the king james version and using a Strongs concordance....
Anyway in genesis1:2 it reads the earth was without form, and void; this should actually be translated "the earth became without form and void" the hebrew word is tohu which means it was utterly destroyed. This is refering to the first earth age the age when dinasaurs lived and roamed the earth and we Gods children where in spiritual bodies(thats why they cant find human remains). At this time Satan or Lucifer was kinda watching over things and he got prideful and said hey im God and deceived 1/3 of us(see ezekial28the king of tyrus was a type)..So at this time God destroyed that earth age along with the dinasuars and then recreated it in the following verses of Genesis... He did this to give the 1/3 a chance to be reconciled to him through the Jesus Christ the Messiah. Thats why God states in verse 28 to "Replenish" the earth. Its important to know that there are 3 earth and heaven ages we are in the second one it mentions the earth ages in 2 peter3:5-7 verse 6 is not refering to noahs flood the world did not perish it is refering to Genesis 1:2...You must also remember in Amos 8:11 the famine in the end days that we now live in is not for food but for HEARING the Words of the Lord... If you properly study the entire Bible both new and old you will see this all tie together..If your interested in studying Gods word in detail like this. then email me and i'll send you a link..Id give it out but if I do everyone will bash me saying im just a religious nut...
