anyone have a good idea to clean a wooden pipe, cant soak it in rubbing alcohol. ive tried pipecleaners, safety pins and just trying to smoke the res out. any foolproof way of doing it efficiently?

First, smoking out of a wood pipe is fun, regardless of what everyone on this board seems to believe. So kudos for being different. That being said, smoking from a wooden pipe has it's own unique challenges.

Second, since you're smoking a plant that produces high resin, the last thing you want to do is use any kind of solvent, as this will cause the resin to soak into the wood and RUIN your pipe (voice of experience speaking)

There's a company called knox cigars that makes some good products for cleaning wooden pipes, as well as some downright beautiful old-fashioned wooden pipes. Personally I find a well crafted wood pipe to be just as beautiful as a custom-blown glass piece.

I'm not sure what the ingredients in the cleaner solution they sell are, or if they sell to people under 18, but you could always call and ask. They have a website too. Good luck!
