really hard to decide what sub-genre of "hippie rock" to respond with, so choose what suits the mood:
1. hippie dippy flower power- most anything by janis (especially with the kozmik blues band)--but summertime is so bluesy and mellow that the field grows around you
2. old school- classic jimi--electric ladyland can make you want to do the dishes no matter how high you are and are you experienced even gets my old bones jumping
3. Psychedelic- ? and the mysterians-- its a bit bizare but that organ seems to bring loong dead brain cells back to life
4. dark and foreboding- yes--gates of delirium is to massive not to trip on

I love Five to One by The Doors, especially in their Live in Hollywood album when Morrison yells "I've gotta go in a car with some people, and get.....Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked up!"
I also like Strange Days, People Are Strange, and Peace Frog by The Doors.
I usually listen to Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, or Alice in Chains though
