ok i need some simple, direct, and accurate help wtih burning files to a dvd so that i could play them on a dvd player, such as my ps2. i have nero, registered version (came with comp) but i can't figure out how to use it and any 'guides' i find are too complicated for me to bother with.... i tinkered with it, and thought i was getting it to work, but when i select a file to burn to dvd it tells me that the fps are off and some other crap....
so, could someone simply explain how to take an avi (most of my files are avi) and burn it to a dvd so that it can be played on dvd players (if it involves conversions and blah blah blah i need that explained step by step as well)
also, i do not have money to buy any programs so it either has to be done with programs that come with winxp, nero or freeware (freeware that does not have limitations, i dont' want a bunch of watermarked dvd's)

I couldn't get Nero 6 to work either.
I used "sonic"s dvd burning software for a while....then accidently deleted it from my computer
So now I use Nero 7 ...downloaded the demo for it on a torrent site and got the serial number for the full program off a google search.....so now I have the full works.
And it works fine!
If you are wanting to copy dvd's off the original i suggest "dvd decrypter" and "dvd shrink" they seem to make perfect backups of dvd's
not sure if thats what you want to do....but might be of help at some stage.
Sorry I couldn't be more help dude....lol

Look for CloneDVD (use with the program anyDVD) on thepiratebay. I use it all the time and it almost never produces a coaster. I have used anyDVD with Nero 6 just fine before... so it may be you just need a decrypter.

If video needs to be re-encoded as an mpeg. If your DVD authoring software won't do it, try out tmpgenc. You can downlod here
http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/e_main.html
Guides for the program can be found at www.videohelp.com
Good Luck!

Yup, it's a good one. I used to use it all the time to rip commercials out of tv shows I recorded. Good shit.
I use Nero all the time - Do you click on "Make a Video CD" under "Nero Smart Start"?- I have never had a problem with it...do you get a funky error message or something?

Youll need an AVI-MPEG converter, www.download.com is the source for most any utilities for anything by the way.
Sometimes I have problems with certain brands of DVD's on my ps2, although mine has a mod chip, i am not usre if this makes a difference.

I stand by CloneDVD, a awesome easy to use program!

so you want to burn copies of entire dvds? or just put like AVI's on to a data dvd and have them play?
Cause if its the former then just get DVD Decrypter to rip and DVD shrink to compress and burn only two programs you'll ever need.
