Yeah...5g should barely be a ticket. If you really do have a felony on your record then yes, they can use that as a reason not to hire you. If you don't really have a felony then it could be descrimination and you can sue their nuts off.

There is nothing under federal law that would make that illegal, and I'd assume it is legal in most states.

Certain things (sexual orientation, gender, age, handicap, learning disability, ect...) are protected by law, but many things are not.

if all u got was possession of 5 g's then it's a misdemeanor and they shouldn't even have that information. but if they nailed u for trafficking those same 5 g's, it is a felony and they can use it against u. completely depends on the nature of the charge.

the cops wrote "unspecified amount" on my arrest report so that they could charge me with felony poss and felony maintaining a vehicle. on court day the da dropped the charges before my lawyer said anything, but that was after they continued the case for a year. anyways, i talked to my lawyer and he said in most states (including mine) employers can deny employment for any reason but race, gender and all that.(some states dont let employers use nonconvictions as a reason california maybe). they were dismissed months ago, it just makes me mad that something you arent convicted of can still fuck you...and it will be a few more months and more money befor e they are expunged.thanks for responding though.
