Outside...give it no more than 5-6hours of direct sunlight. Any more, and it will dry up and burn, too less, and it will stretch.
How big is your pot? Give your plant plenty of room to grow. Give it a big enough pot or it will stretch and get root bound, then die.
Soil? What kind you got in there? Good soil is essential in a good crop. If you have soil that you used from the back alley or your backyard, no good. Buy a bag of soil. Potting soil, with vermiculite or perlite. Mix 3/4 soil, 1/4 perlite or vemiculite.
Nutes? Don't over feed, but also don't let them starve. Plants need food to grow, much like us.
Only water when the soil is dry. Your outside, in a pot, so watering almost daily, if it doesn't rain, is needed. Soil dries out very fast in pots, and sitting in the hot sunshine for hours on end. If you're not sure when the soil is dry, dip your finger about an inch deep into the soil.. If it's moist underneath, don't water, if it's dry, water.
Pictures would help to.
