First post, been trolling on the board for about three weeks..lots of good info going around...kudos...i'm down south usa, it's naturally hot..growing in a closet of 5x5 usable space with a ten foot ceiling...i have 14 plants, 4 moms, 10 fully rooted clones under a 600w mh w/ a bunch of cfl's (6-10) 19-27 w, 5000-5500k lit (will be removed when i take cuttings)...i do not have any exhaust going...i should have been on this board b4 i received my plants...it's super hot between 94-100, up to 110-115 with door closed for half the day, CO2 enrichment (yeast/sugar) @ 1000-1100 ppm after two hours with the doors shut (that's when the temp rises)..closet door is open at this time, around 4 pm central and its 96 at the canopy level..this enviroment has persisted for three weeks and i will probably remain for 7-10 days, will purchase a portable air cooler in hopes of getting the temps down 10-15 degrees..

the plants have gone thru the stress of transplanting, but i know they are getting hammered by the heat...getting to the point however...

1. Am I doomed to having hermies?
2. When (how soon) will they show after i cut the lights back?
3. When i take my cuttings (i plan on having them in the right enviroment), are they doomed?

the four mothers are NL, skunk #1, white rhino, and kali mist, unlabeled, but assured to have one of each..the clones are unlabeled, one of the four...

(rambling)
i have plenty of room in the house, but i also run a business out of here..so using one of the forward rooms is out of the question at least for the first ninety days..

i have a seperate home that's empty (tons of space, close to me), but i'm just getting back into growing and i want to keep my plants close until i get the green thumb back and i dont know the neighbors, etc., etc....its a pretty safe grow where i am

i'm mechanically inept so no drilling holes in the wall for me...i will get the seperate house all ready before i move the grow there, just get someone in to fix up the rooms like they should be (exhaust, scrubbers, etc.)...
(/rambling)

someone who has experience with high veg temperaure please chime in...either for peace of mind or a swift kick in the rear for action...

thanks, i look forward to all help

Without ventilation, you are doomed to the risks of nature.

The main result will be HUGE fan leaves and yes you run the risk of hermies all day long.

However, many plants do very well in high temps. Some of the best smoke I ever had was outdoor sensi grown in the Arizona climate. 110 degree summers. Your Kali Mist should do fine for example. So all is not lost.

But...to mitigate the potential losses you will suffer, you need to work on ventilation. Without good ventilation, the co2 could create a potentially dangerous environment for your plants and yourself when you open the door.

You can lower the temps by 10 - 15 degrees just by having fresh air in and hot air out. You may get some seeds in that heat although they'll prolly be immature ones.

Finally, without proper ventilation, you're gonna have odor problems. Those strains are pretty smelly. So to answer your questions:

1. Am I doomed to having hermies?

Not neccessarily, but odds are you will get some...if you stay the way you are.

2. When (how soon) will they show after i cut the lights back?

I assume you mean sex...Ideally you will ID some female prior to inducing flowering as well as some male. At days 28 -32, they should be showing something. If not, within 10 days of 12/12, you shall know.

Your hermies that you need to watch for are hermies that switch after the intial flowering begins. They turn on you but you never see it. Until you go to break up a bud to smoke and you find the seeds.

3. When i take my cuttings (i plan on having them in the right enviroment), are they doomed?

Well..........a clone is a clone.......

You have some nice strains. It would be a shame to fuck them up cuz you didn't commit to getting it done right.

Half assed efforts result in half assed results...every fricking time.

So, get off you dead fat ass and decide, either commit and do what you know you need to do, or don't and I wont have to sit here and tell you what you already know will happen.

Good luck and may the force be with you.

If your in the Dirty, why dont you just grow outside? Still the heat but they deal with it. Also, heat will cause male plants in veg. And herms durning flowering.

thanks for the quick replies..thanks for giving it to me straight, this isn't exactly my first rodeo (but first in a long time), but i'm back in it earlier than i would have liked...its good to know that i can turn it around..and yeah, i'll just keep the door open and use a sleeping mask...done it before...

an outdoor grow just isn't logical for me..i'm better off, keeping it indoors, when i start my offsite grow (the other home)..i will consider that my guerrilla grow
